An orange promotional banner highlights Native Pet's "Omega Oil" supplement, which uses 100% wild-caught fish to promote healthier skin, a shiny coat, and stronger joints. Bulleted details explain that it is a premium fish oil for dogs that targets skin support using biotin and wheat germ while supplying omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy inflammatory response in their joints. A white metal bottle with an orange pump mechanism showcases a simple dog graphic alongside several circular badges: "Made with Pollock + Salmon Oil," "Developed by Vets," and a "#1 Taste Tested" star logo.
A bright lime-green horizontal graphic defines the manufacturing excellence and ingredient standards behind the liquid supplement. Accompanied by minimal blue icons, the text certifies that the product formula is vet-formulated, relies entirely on clean label ingredients, contains no artificial flavors, contains no fillers, and is proudly made in the USA.
A scenic lifestyle photo showcases a fluffy Pomeranian dog looking happy against a clear blue sky. Interconnected lime-green circular callout lines map out the direct physiological benefits of introducing the omega-3 blend, highlighting that it reduces excessive shedding, supports joint health, and supports heart health.
A white section isolates the pure, whole-food components of the formula, stating it is made with 100% wild-caught fish and free from any hidden additives. Four macro ingredient tiles display close-ups of the direct components: Wild-Caught Salmon Oil: For heart + mobility Wild-Caught Pollock Oil: For skin health + shiny coat Wheatless Wheat Germ Oil: For skin hydration Biotin: For a strong coat
A side-by-side product comparison chart maps out the distinct differences between Native Pet's Sockeye Salmon Oil and Omega Oil. Divided by functional categories down the center, the layout details: Benefits: Sockeye Salmon Oil supports skin, heart, and joint health as a multi-system support solution; Omega Oil targets specific skin and coat health, addressing dry skin, occasional itching, and excessive shedding. How it Works: Sockeye Salmon Oil uses EPA + DHA to provide powerful antioxidant support; Omega Oil provides an ideal ratio of Omega-3 fatty acids to support overall skin health. Ingredients: Sockeye Salmon Oil relies on 100% wild-caught sockeye salmon oil; Omega Oil blends wild-caught pollock and salmon oil.
A solid blue graphic serves as a bold visual transition, introducing the central question "why native pet?" to prompt the brand's quality philosophy.
Against a solid blue backdrop, four distinct square tiles detail the core pillars of the brand's pet care approach: Shows a veterinarian in blue scrubs holding a small dog, explaining that products are developed by vets and made entirely in-house to ensure quality and effectiveness. Displays a pump bottle of sockeye salmon oil next to a raw fish filet, stating they use only the cleanest, highest-quality ingredients with no fillers or fluff. Focuses on the face of an excited dog, asserting that even picky pets love the flavor thanks to real whole-food ingredients. How many pumps can I get out of the 8 ounce can?

Can I give my yorkie

Answer by JanaMar 03, 2026
Yes, per my vet fish oil is what you use for dogs, but not olive oil.

How long after using regularly can I expect to see results?

Answer by AudreeMay 18, 2026
I used this in my lab/chow’s food daily for about 2 weeks before I noticed his skin and coat starting to improve. His skin was very dry and his coat was coarse and dull when I first adopted him and it took about 2 months (with the help of a good diet) for his skin and coat to become healthy.

There are photos of leaking bottles and spoiled shipments. It's not July 2026. What is Chewy doing to ensure that this product has proper padding around it and does not leak?

Native Pet Omega Oil has been a great addition to Crickets diet. After four months on a fish-based diet with this supplement, her coat has developed a beautiful shine and her skin remains healthy and hydrated. We really appreciate that it is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration, making it easy to store and use. Cricket loves the taste, and it even encourages her to eat kibble she would normally ignore. As an active dog, I am hopeful that continued use will support her joints and overall health. This oil is a high quality, convenient way to support coat, skin, and joint wellness.

I have 2 spoiled Pomeranians, one with a sensitive stomach, one with an aversion to fish. My sensitive boy has dry flaky skin so I thought this would help. He will eat it, but even half a pump every few days will give him diarrhea. Miss Priss says it smells TOO FISHY and now she won’t eat her regular food because this was served on top of it a few times so I must be poisoning her on a daily basis now. Now I can’t use this, AND I have to change the nightly dinner offering. Spoiled pups! It had also leaked in transit and I received an oily smelly box and I had to wash the container before use. The “gripper” was fully intact but the pump hadn’t been completely tightened before the sticker was applied.

I’m always careful about what I give my 1-year-old Golden Retriever, especially since he has a sensitive stomach and is quite active and playful. I came across Native Pet Omega Oil while looking for something clean, safe, and effective to support his skin, coat, and joints, and I’m so glad I gave it a try! What I loved: Shiny Coat: Within 2 weeks, I noticed his coat became softer, shinier, and less flaky. People have actually commented on how great he looks! Less Itching: He used to scratch a bit, especially during season changes, but this oil has really calmed that down. Easy to Use: I just pump it over his evening meal, it smells like fish but not overwhelmingly strong, and he loves the taste. Clean Ingredients: I appreciate that it’s made with wild-caught fish and no weird fillers or artificial additives. That gives me peace of mind as someone who reads labels closely. Joint Support: He runs, jumps, and plays a lot, and I feel like this is helping keep his joints in good shape, especially for a larger breed like a golden.

The packaging arrived well secured. I like the tin packaging with the pump. When I twisted the pump to open it, a bit of the oil leaked out. I see that as a slight issue because it smells like fish. However, I added one pump to my dogs' food (recommended two pumps but that is way too much for the amount of food my dogs get). I mixed it with their dry food, wet food, and two powdered supplements including Native Pet's goat milk. It all mixed up pretty good. One of my dog's was a little hesitant to try the food with the new addition, however, she did end up eating it all. She is the one that has the skin and hair issues so it's important that she likes this oil. There are not a lot of products that claim to address skin, hair and joints so I'm glad to find this product. I thought it would be too smelly, but my dogs did not smell of it after they ate. I would recommend this product.

Great packaging, effective product!

Our vet complemented our 3.5yr old pittie’s skin and said it’s probably from the omega oil we give him! He’s never had skin issues which are common for his breed

Our vet complemented our 3.5yr old pittie’s skin and said it’s probably from the omega oil we give him! He’s never had skin issues which are common for his breed. Also the packaging is soo much better than its plastic alternatives which I have found to be leaky oily messes. This leaks from the pump and splatters very little and any mess is contained to the top of the tin as opposed to the cabinet. Pic is from a used, almost empty container. Highly recommend this!

I've been wanting to give my Great Pyrenees fish oil every day for years, but get discouraged every time we try because he is such a bad pill taker, and since he's so large, his dose is more than one capsule a day. I squirt 4 pumps of this on his food twice a day, and he eats it right up! He doesn't seem to care about it being on his food at all. I am so happy he is finally getting his daily fish oil, and that it's so convenient for me to give it to him! As a reference, one 16 fl oz container of this at 8 pumps a day lasts me 40 days.

BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT IF YOUR PET HAS A SENSITIVE STOMACH

My poor dog had diarrhea every 2 hours for 4 days straight from ONE pump of this salmon oil. He takes salmon oil every day with his food and I bought this product after seeing it had good reviews & he was almost out of his last bottle of a different brand. He started vomiting, then the diarrhea went on for days and I had to take time off work to be able to let him out every 2 hours. He was lethargic and not himself. I normally wouldn’t write a poor review but I don’t want other animals to get sick! I put him on a bland diet and called the vet. That was only from one pump of this oil I’m so thankful I didn’t give him the recommended dose for his weight! I scrolled through some other low reviews for this product and noticed my dog wasn’t the first to have severe GI upset from it.

I was curious about trying this oil to supplement my aging Chipin’s health (13.5 years). I bought this 2 1/2 weeks ago and from the very first day my dog went from snacking on her food throughout the day to eating it in one sitting. She’s obsessed with it and so am I! I also introduced it to my friend’s dog (2 years) that is staying with us. He has some tummy issues and was not doing well but he got a taste of this Oil from my dog’s food and he has instantly ate the food. He went from barely wanting the food the vet recommended to eating it fully! I do recommend it and I’m very excited to continue buying it for my pup.

My 4 year old yellow Lab had an itching and foot chewing problem for a while. A little research and I thought fish oil might be a help. 12 pumps in his breakfast made a difference in a week. 3 months later his fur has grown back on his stomach and elbows and he no longer chews on his paws with the fish oil being the only change. I'm a customer for the rest of his life.

How To Open The Pump

I got this fish oil for my cat because even though it’s made for dogs, the ingredients contain everything a cat can safely have too. He loves it and begs for it

I got this fish oil for my cat because even though it’s made for dogs, the ingredients contain everything a cat can safely have too. He loves it and begs for it in the mornings. Now, I see the majority of comments are saying the pump is faulty, defective, broken, etc. but that’s not the case. Just like soap and lotion bottles, every pump has a lock. Some lock, some don’t. It makes sense that this is locked since the risk of it spilling during shipment would be significantly higher if they didn’t seal it properly. Don’t worry, I’m gonna show you how to open it, step by step. 1. First, open the bottle by twisting the pump off just like you would twist open a soda cap. 2. Once the pump is out, the bottle will be wide open, be careful not to spill it as the fish oil is slippery. 3. Get a rag, towel, or napkin. 4. Now the pump has 4 main parts, the clear straw part of it, the thick base, the twisty cap, and the top part that you press to pump out the contents. Grip the thick base part of it (the part that doesn’t twist) and twist the top part of the pump in the direction it says, most likely to the left. (righty tighty, lefty loosey) You should feel it spring loose or click. Once you successfully unlocked it, the top part of the pump will be ready to twist and it will open just like a regular soap or lotion bottle. Tada! if my instructions are too messy or unclear, search up on YouTube “how to unlock a lotion pump” The video I watched is called “Tutorial: How to unlock a lotion pump” by West Coast Refill.
