Keeps the grackles away !

My backyard birds love these safflower seeds, especially the cardinals, chickadees, and dark-eyed juncos. They also do a great job keeping the grackles away.

Someone recommended I try this safflower seed when I was having trouble with starlings hogging the feeders & scaring the the songbirds away. It worked well because they would not eat it. But the starlings put up a fight when I first filled the feeders with it. They would sit on the feeders & scoop the seed out onto the ground with their beaks. They did this day after day for about a week. Gradually they stopped coming to the feeders & now none of them come to the feeders anymore. The cardinals & mourning doves (and squirrels) enjoyed eating what was on the ground when the starlings were throwing it out of the feeders. I now include this in my birdseed mix to help deter the starlings Y because some of the birds enjoy eating it.

Birds love it. Squirrels don't.

If you have a problem with squirrels eating all of your seed, give Safflower seed a try. Your Mourning Doves and other birds love it, and squirrels won't touch it

If you have a problem with squirrels eating all of your seed, give Safflower seed a try. Your Mourning Doves and other birds love it, and squirrels won't touch it. Plus, Safflower seed has important oils and calories that birds need while nesting and during winter. Safflower seed can be expensive, but this bag from Morning Song is really great. Plus, if you order it from Chewy, it will be delivered to your door. I recommend you try Morning Song Safflower Seed today.

Very disappointed

I usually buy my dog food with Chewy. I also feed birds and decided to buy bird seed this time. It will be the last time. The photo shows how the bird seed arrived

Local birds are always very enthusiastic about this safflower seed from this brand. Not one seed ever left behind! And, Morning Song Safflower seeds have the lowest % dust, empty husks, any inedible matter, of all the safflower brands we’ve tried (many). Also the lowest price safflower we’ve found. Sticking with Morning Song! Very happy with this seed.

I have bought safflower seeds for years, and this was the first time I bought Morning Song brand. There were several cornels of corn and some other type of seed in the mix. Very unusual, and I did have to sift the product to get rid of the corn. Corn attracts squirrels, and I choose not to feed them. I'll go back to my other brand next time.

The birds are happy again

The size and price along with the ingredients is important for me. When the various birds and squirrels come they waste nothing.

Hungry Grackles

Grackles were consuming all the mixed bird food in my feeders within an hour or two every day and I can't afford to continue to feed them like this. This happens

Grackles were consuming all the mixed bird food in my feeders within an hour or two every day and I can't afford to continue to feed them like this. This happens mid-summer every year and previously I stopped putting out bird food for a few days and the grackles would give up. I hate that the other polite birds have no food during this time. I read that grackles don't like safflower but many other birds like cardinals love it so I purchased Morning Song Safflower Seed Wild Bird Food. The grackles weren't happy but at least the other birds could eat. I felt that Morning Song safflower was affordable compared to other brands.
