We bought #65020 hummingbird feeder, but there isn’t an ant moat. There were 15 dead ants inside the glass today. Any fixes?

Loved it but only lasted one summer
Since the metal touches the water it started rusting and leaving residue in the nectar which is toxic to the birds. I tried cleaning it off but the metal changed
Since the metal touches the water it started rusting and leaving residue in the nectar which is toxic to the birds. I tried cleaning it off but the metal changed color and I don’t dare leave it out for them anymore. Also, normal bottle brushes don’t fit into the opening to clean it. I really love the glass and the platform for the birds to land on but I’m not a huge fan of the metal and I don’t want to buy another one figuring it would just do the same thing.
This is certainly a beautiful feeder.

This feeder is well made and easy to fill. It disassembles easily for cleaning. The biggest problem I have is, when the hummingbirds drink all the liquid out of the bottom reservoir, what is in the bottle does not refill the reservoir. Some sort of vacuum is formed that keeps the liquid from draining down. I have to go outside every morning and every evening and tilt the feeder sideways to release air bubbles and refill the bottom reservoir. If we had higher winds here this probably wouldn't be a problem, but most days it's not windy enough to rock the feeder so that it refills itself. I think this is a pretty common problem with a lot of feeders. Seems like someone could invent a feeder that doesn't have this problem.

I liked this one because my birds like to sit. So I wanted one where they could sit and drink. Its so pretty I bought another for my mom's Mother's Day gift The birds use it all the time.

Love the look of this. It’s prettier than the more commercial hummingbird feeders. It holds a lot of fluid and is easy to clean and refill. Another type I had was not able to refill nearly as easily and when I twisted the base back on the nozzle of the bottle, it broke off. This one is much sturdier and easy on the eye. The birds are happy!

What a FABULOUS hummingbird feeder!
I bought four new ones this year and one of them was this style (in another color) and the hummingbirds all loved this one the best. So i got a couple more!

Bought this feeder from Petsmart. Pretty. Easy to put together and refill. Hung it on a sturdy hook that clamps on to my deck railing. Attracts hummingbirds fine. Some days, there are a ton of birds coming and going. Can attract ants (sugar water) but I keep the area clean and the problem isn’t currently enough of an issue to worry about.

Several years ago I thought to upgrade my red plastic with yellow flowers hum feeder. The amethyst feeder seemed the ticket. I purchased two from Chewy. I have used just one to date, the other is still brand new. Bottom line - the hums do not like this feeder in my area of California. They liked the red plastic one well enough, but capacity was lacking and yellow flowers hard to clean. Well, at least I had hummers! A few last year, almost none this year. So I will dump my two fancy feeders, take the loss, and return to the simple feeders that work. Smaller capacity, harder to clean, but will draw the hummers. That's all!
