Minties Large Mint Flavored Dental Dog Treats 50+ lbs, 32-oz bag, 24 count

We recently gave Minties Large Mint-Flavored Treats to our two German Shepherd mixes as a mid-day snack. We only had a few treats to try, so each dog got two over the course of a couple days, but it was more than enough to know they were a hit! Here’s what we noticed: Excitement at first sniff – As soon as the bag opened, both dogs perked up and came running. The minty scent was surprisingly pleasant — not overpowering, just fresh and clean. Even we thought they smelled good! Perfect for big chewers – Our 110 lb German/Golden mix crunched right through his, while our smaller German/Elk Hound mix took his time enjoying it. The texture felt like a great match for large dogs. No upset stomachs – We’re always a little cautious with new treats, but both dogs had zero issues — no digestive upset and definitely no pickiness. We didn’t have enough to notice a big difference in their breath yet, but they clearly enjoyed every bite. We’ll definitely be picking up a full bag to add these to our dental routine. Bonus points for the clean ingredients and no artificial junk!

I was excited about receiving these treats for my two dogs thinking that they had healthy ingredients. My fault for not looking at the photo of the actual bag and relying on Chewy's description on the website page. When I received them I saw that there are two (unnecessary) artificial colors listed at the end of the ingredient list. I have a very elderly dog with a heart condition and a very young puppy. I have not opened the bag and will not feed these because I am afraid to expose either dog to these two chemicals. The colors are FDA approved but if you look them up online and see the warnings and side effects it makes one pause. These treats could have been colored with Spirulina, Turmeric or another natural vegetable coloring. Using petroleum derived synthetic chemicals seems like a cost saving short cut for the company. I would rather pay a little more for a safer product.
