Can parakeets eat this

Regarding the Kruse's Perfection Brand Dove & Quail Food, it would not be recommended to feed to a parakeet as the entire diet. It shouldn’t hurt if they get some of the Dove and Quail mix, however they need to be fed a higher protein and fat mix with smaller grains like Millet, Canary Seed and oat groats.

We had a devastating fire last year and lost most of our wildlife. One quail couple survived, had 7 babies, and we are enjoying feeding them. We have also attracted doves, squirrels, rabbits and pinyon jays. Yesterday we noticed 2 more quail families! They love this food and I am going to auto ship to make sure we get through our tough Eastern Sierra winter.

Saves a lot of feeder food

This time of year I am under siege by those @%*#!! Red Winged Black Birds. They descend on my feeders in flocks of 20-50 and empty ALL of them in less than 8 hours

This time of year I am under siege by those @%*#!! Red Winged Black Birds. They descend on my feeders in flocks of 20-50 and empty ALL of them in less than 8 hours. I discovered they really like the Kruse D&Q food and if I scatter it on the ground around the yard they will, mostly! leave the feeders for the song birds. The doves get their share so it's a win-win.

Attracts multiple birds

I bought this for the doves here at Daytona Beach. However, there are other birds that eat this including blue jays and red bellied woodpeckers. I was very pleased

It actually attracts doves!

The doves absolutely love it. And so do the other birds, this gets consumed quite quickly. A big hit in my bird feeders!

Wonderful! This is a no-mess blend that the wild birds in my backyard love. I wanted to specifically get something the doves and quail would like, and boy do they ever. I appreciate that the sunflower seeds are pre-shelled, so there's no longer shells everywhere. Finches and sparrows continue to eat this blend, too, so now I only need to buy one bag of this seed to make everyone happy.
