My gelding has always struggled with cracked hooves that are exacerbated by the rain and humidity of our area, and he also deals with occasional thrush as he’s outside 24/7. My farrier advised alternating between Kopertox in the rainy season and Keratex in the dry season, and it’s been a game changer for us! Be warned that you WILL leave a trail of green behind you after use, and it will stain your hands/clothes, so wear old barn clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and throw on some gloves to avoid looking like the grinch!

I will not chase thrush. I’ve played that game before and it never goes well. Now I just pick feet daily and use this stuff at the first signs of thrush. The longest I’ve had to deal with it since I started that approach is two days. I’m not sure what the instructions are talking about with the paintbrush thing, when you open the cap of the bottle there’s a small hole and I always just turn the bottle upside down so it creates a slow, steady stream and run it over the affected area. The lid serves as the applicator. However you want to get it on the hoof, it works.
