KONG Squeezz Ball Dog Toy, Color Varies, Medium

I've ordered about 8 of these in the last four months, and most of them have been great, except the most recent two. My previous orders were great for my dog because they squeaked so well and had no seams (and she loves to pull things apart at the seams). The main reason I've had to buy more is that we periodically lost them at the park. However, the balls from my recent purchase were constructed differently - the squeakers broke within a couple hours when some of the pieces fell out of the mechanism, they had seams that my dog could pull apart (making the broken components of the squeaker a choking hazard), and there appears to be a plastic film coming from within the seam. See picture below of balls side by side. Chewy staff was very responsive and helpful when I reached out to them about it.

I received the appropriate size play ball today( 1 day ordered and here), thanks to Chewy... My dog loves her squeaker ball and crackle ball. The box arrived and I set the box on the stool and as I opened it, she knew it had toys in it for her. Do you put a smell or something in the box? She knew this box had something for her... She is a happy dog.

My dog normally loves making the squeaky sound of squeaky toys more than she loves shredding and trying to eat them (and she LOVES demolishing rubber toys, trust me!). I don't know if it's the textured surface or all the places Kong glues these things together from separate pieces or what, but she had it less than 5min before starting to destructive-chew it and it was fracturing and ripping off pieces around the seams in no time flat. For reference, she's had a Gnawsome squeaky ball for almost a YEAR of near-daily play that she has never tried to destroy, usually keeps playing with a red Frisco squeaky football for a few months before putting a hole in it (chewing on the ends), and the Frisco TPR bones last for a week or so before she gets fixated on the chewy texture and chews a hole in them. I was hoping for at least a couple play sessions from these balls, but nope. In the garbage it went. Not recommended at all for even mildly-destructive or heavy-chewing dogs.

My German Shepherd is a power chewer who has destroyed every toy given to him until he was introduced to the Kong Squeezz toys. Jake loves these toys and has two of every shape: the ring, bone, stick, and dumbbell. He has so many because the toys are constantly disappearing and then magically reappearing. When I discovered the Kong Squeezz ball, Jake's world changed! He is absolutely OBSESSED with the Squeezz ball and loses interest in the other Squeezz toys when he has the ball. Jake carries his Kong Squeezz ball everywhere and often walks around the house squeaking it nonstop. The sound can be annoying because Jake squeaks it so much, but this ball brings him so much joy. He has five or six of the balls all around the house and backyard. Because Jake has powerful jaws and obsessively squeaks the ball so much, he does eventually split the ball at the seam. That's my only disappointment with the ball, but considering how much time Jake spends squeaking it, it's no wonder that he eventually damages it. I've tried gluing the seams together, but it doesn't last. I eventually just replace the damaged Kong Squeezz ball with another one because Jake loves them so much. I get just as much joy from this ball just watching Jake play with it. If you have a dog who loves balls and squeakers, this is the perfect toy! I also recommend the other Kong Squeezz toys: the ring, bone, stick, and dumbbell.
