When you add a soft treat like the Stuff 'N Easy, there is always some that remains inside that my dog can't get to. How do you clean it out? It can get pretty nasty over time if left.

Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2018
Soak your KONG in warm water with a little dish soap to help loosen those stickier bits. For tougher treats and sticky peanut butter: bottle brushes (often used to clean baby bottles) and a dab of dish soap can help get those tricky areas near the top. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with warm water.

What kind of rubber are KONG Extreme products made out of?

Answer by ChewyJun 30, 2018
The KONG rubber toys are made from a non-vulcanized, non-toxic natural rubber that's made in the USA.

Why do the 'extreme' toys have to be black...I want something more colorful but me pitmix boy chews right through the red one!

Answer by ChewyJun 20, 2019
At this time KONG Extreme toys only come in black.

What size Kong Stuff N treats fit in the Kong extreme large bone? It's hard to tell on the picture if the hole fits the small Kong stuff n treats or the large sized.

Answer by ChewyAug 06, 2018
The large Kong Stuff N treat will fit in the Kong extreme large bone.

This is prob great for most aggressive chewers, but it has 1 pt of weakness, the area where you put treats / filling in. If your pup is as aggressive chewer as ours, they will take that opening and eventually get start tearing off pieces. Seems we have to stick to the king black that dont have treat entry points. For most, this is great, just wanted to get it out there about the really aggressive chewers and the treat entry point

I have been buying these Kong Extreme bones for Jazmin for about 5 years. This is the only toy I have found that will last more than a few days. Granted after about 6 months I have I replace it because she loves to pull bits off. Another thing I love is that she does not inject the pieces. She can make quite a mess but it’s better than seeing that her toy has gone through her system. She is very protective of her bone. She will be getting a new bone Tuesday as it is her 8th birthday.!

My sister-in-law's biggie, Staffordshire Terrorist, the adorable obsessive Zelda, has to destroy doggie toys! I have hide my puppy's toys when she visits! I typically give her bones that have peanut butter frozen, but I thought I would give her this one to try! She spent hours, throughout the hours of night, and again the next day trying to break this down. I let them take it home! When she got her boo boo ear, I noticed she was yet again spotted using this to distract her beautiful self!!! One year later, it's still good as new!!! Best toy, her only toy, ever!!!!

For context, I have a 65lbs pitbull. Our house is a toy graveyard. He loves to rip things up and needs to chew everyday or he gets restless. I like that, instead of a lot of "indestructible" toys that I get, this is made of flexible rubber and not hard plastic. This will probably last a while with my dog but it depends on your dog. I wouldn't get this assuming that it will last forever, because it probably won't. Overall, I like this a lot better than other toys I've gotten for tough chewers. And my dog likes it too. He was chewing on it even before I put treats in it. And he's not been gentle either, I can hear how hard he's chewing and I haven't seen any bite marks yet. But it's only the second day.

Not "extreme" enough

This bone lasted longer than some toys, but is definitely not strong enough or thick enough to stand up to a power chewer. It took my (at that point) <50lb dog

This bone lasted longer than some toys, but is definitely not strong enough or thick enough to stand up to a power chewer. It took my (at that point) <50lb dog about 30 minutes to chew a medium size one almost in half. I doubt the outcome would be any different for the large; they're just too thin in the middle. She was *highly* entertained for those 30 minutes, though, making all sorts of rubber-squeaking-against-teeth sounds, but it's not worth the price to not last a single day. For reference, it's her mission in life to shred (and eat) any rubber toy. She had a flap of a large Chuckit Ultra ball ripped loose in 20 minutes, demolished an "indestructible" Ruff Dawg donut in 10 minutes flat, and has ripped up more "durable" toys than I can count in the 5 months I've had her. While this bone didn't last, the large size Kong Extreme Goodie Ribbon and large Extreme Ball survived her manic chewing. The only other rubber toys to make it so far are Goughnuts toys, a large WoofBite ball, WoofBite ring, large Petsafe Squirrel Dude, and surprisingly, the cheap Frisco brand holiday toys like the snowman and pumpkin that are made to hold treats kind of like a Kong.

Theo "The Chomper" is a two year old male Labrador Retriever / 1/8 German Shepherd that came to live with us 17 months ago. Since then, he has gone through two of the KONG Extreme Goodie Bone Dog Toys; and is working on his third. The weak area is the end of the rubber bone; where it's the thinnest. Theo has managed to chew through one corner, then the other, before biting off small pieces, which he could swallow. Besides two KONG Extreme Bones, Theo has a KONG Extreme Cone and the KONG Extreme Ball. While he also chews on these, he has yet to chew off pieces. That said, maybe KONG should make the ends of the KONG Extreme Bone thicker?

The New Favorite Toy!!

We ordered this because our 10 month old pittie mix is so tough on toys, we have trouble keeping any for more than a week or so. We typically only buy Kong products as we know they are the only things that will outlast his chompers for any length of time! We just got the Extreme Goodie Bone (large for a 45 pound pit mix) 2 days ago, and I have never seen our pup take to a loving a toy this hard! He loves this thing with or without treats and in fact almost snubs saying hello to me in the morning to go retrieve this and jump around with it (he never goes without his good morning hellos!). We have been putting carrot pieces in the ends of this and it works like a charm, and thus far through almost constant chewing for 2 days, there is no wear and tear. Another great product from Kong brought to us by Chewy!

Still going strong

This was the first toy we bought for Stanley when we adopted him in 2021 and it is still his favor toy to this day! He prefers playing with it with us, he’ll bite one end and have us grab the other end. So this thing gets tugged on everyday, rough. He can almost pull me off the couch some days. And when we’re done, he chews on it. This thing is solid. He destroys every other “tough chewer” brand but he met his match with the Kong Extreme toys!

I bought a large for my dogs. One of my dogs LOVES it regardless if there are treats stuck in it or not. There are 4 openings on the ends of the rubber bone to stick treats in it. She brings me this toy to play Fetch. My other dog only seems to interact with it if there is peanut butter or some kind of other treats stuck inside of it. It's very durable and has held up well since I bought it about a month ago. By the way, I bought a large for my medium size (35 lbs.) dogs. It's a bit big for them, but like I said... my one dog loves it. I think it's her favorite toy now! I am actually glad I went up a size because there is more room to stick treats in and room for me to grab an end and play Tug with her.

My dogs love the regular kongs, but they were starting to get that puzzle figured out too fast, so I wanted to try something new. The holes on these bones are super tight, so it's hard to shove things in there, but the dogs have to really work to get them out! They can't just toss and drop these to get the treats out like the original kongs. I put full size cut up carrots, milk bones, apple slices, and peanut butter in the holes (separately, not all at once) and the dogs love them. I also just figured Merrick brand salmon treats are small stars and fit in the hole perfectly. These were a great buy for my 2 smarty dogs.
