Our dog is pretty picky when it comes to kibble so when she took great interest in me opening the bag I was quite hopeful. I was pleased when it did not have a foul odor like some of the foods do. The one thing I noticed right away is that the bag is not resealable. I wish the large bags would be resealable to keep the food fresh. Chloe is more gung ho about eating when the bag is first opened. By the time you get to the bottom of the bag all the great smells are gone and the food no longer appeals to her. The kibble pieces were a good size for her as were the freeze dried chicken chunks. I did notice that there are not a lot of the chicken cubes in a scoopful of food. When I put her bowl of food down she gave it the sniff test, picked up a few pieces in her mouth and took them over to her mat. She returned to the bowl and ate some at the bowl so I thought things were going well. Then I realized she was eating the chicken cubes and spitting the rest of the food all over the floor. As a dry option, this isn't the best choice for my picky girl, but I can see how this food would be really enticing to a dog who is not so finicky. The freeze dried chicken treats were a 100% big hit with her though. They are slightly bigger than the chunks in the food and she comes running for them!

This food surprised me with the great reaction Bandit had! He doesn't typically care much for freeze-dried food. However, after the first cautious sniff, he ate up both a bowl of Kismet and a Nug for dessert. Perhaps it suited him because the food is kibble with freeze-dried nuggets included, rather than a bowl of all freeze-dried food. I'm happy that he likes it, because this US-made food seems to have what I want for my dog: real chicken as the first ingredient (with no animal byproducts); freeze-dried chicken and sweet potato nuggets; pre- and probiotics. This food is suitable for all life stages. The picture on the package showed me that the kibble is a size and shape that is suitable for a smaller dog (my boy is a Sheltie). The side of the bag gives a feeding guide to help you fit it to your dog's diet, but you should always ask your vet when introducing a new food. The Nugs treats are good because they don't crumble as easily as some other freeze-dried bits, so I slide them across the floor for Bandit to chase - a little exercise with his snack. This pack also has a feeding guideline so you don't overdo the snacks. Definitely one to try for your dog!

However, I didnt realize it was chicken until it arrived and my dog is allergic. I was going to try the Salmon with brown rice but at $73 for a 19lbs bag its a bit out of my price range. I gave my dog Kismet chicken with barely recipe and Kismet Nugs real beef and sweet potato treats. The dog food was a hit. My lab/shepherd mix seemed to like it
I gave my dog Kismet chicken with barely recipe and Kismet Nugs real beef and sweet potato treats. The dog food was a hit. My lab/shepherd mix seemed to like it abd tolerated it well. The Nugs treats were not a great fit and she threw up an hour after eating them. I'm not entirely sure the treats made her sick but for a dog her size the small little treats don't cut it. I highly recommend the food.

The kibble quality is top-tier, and she loves searching for the little freeze-dried chicken nugs mixed inside. As a bonus, we tried the 1-oz bag of the Beef & Sweet Potato freeze-dried treats, and they are her new obsession! Because they are freeze-dried raw, they are super lightweight but packed with flavor. I crunched a couple of the beef nugs right over the top of her chicken kibble this morning, and she licked the bowl clean. If you have a picky dog, this exact combo is a total game-changer.

I also received the 1-oz sample bag of the Beef & Sweet Potato Nugs to try out. The treats are quite small (perfect training size), and the ingredient list is incredibly clean literally just beef and sweet potato. I love that I can give my dog a high-reward raw treat without any artificial junk or preservatives. Kismet knocked it out of the park with both of these!

I have been purchasing the 19-lb bag of the Chicken & Barley recipe for my two dogs, and it has completely transformed their digestive health. One of my pups has an incredibly sensitive stomach, but this food is so easy on his digestion, no more random gas or loose stools. They sprint to their bowls every morning and specifically hunt down the freeze-dried chicken and sweet potato nugs first. It’s a bit pricier than standard kibble but seeing them this excited and healthy makes it worth every penny.

We live in Florida and have adopted lots of recue animals over the last 50 years! Right now I have a rescue Wheaton terrier named Chester mix and a rescue maltese poodle mix named Larry. We have had Chester for almost 10 years and Larry about 5. Both dogs came from very dificult lives and require extra attension. They both loved KISMET chicken and barley! i mixed it with their current food for a couple of days to make sure they would not have any issues and they really liked it . After a couple of days they both absolutely loved it. They ate all of it as if it was gourmet! They liked the smell and appearance and absolutely loved the taste! These dogs have actually picked out pieces of other food and set them aside on the floor and just eat the pieces they wanted. Kismet Chicken and Barley they not only ate every piece but licked the bowl and looked around to made sure they didn’t miss a piece lol.!!! I would definately recommend this Kismet dog food to any pet parent!

I like that this food contains pre/probiotics because one of my dogs tends to have tummy issues. He has not had any problems with this food. This food has a short list of ingredients and no unnecessary fillers.

If you have a dog that snubs their nose at plain dry kibble, you need to try these. I crumble a few of the Beef & Sweet Potato Nugs over my dog's usual dinner, and she cleans her bowl every single time now. It’s a great, easy way to add raw nutrition without dealing with the mess of actual fresh food. Really appreciate the clean ingredients and how easy they are to break apart. Highly recommend giving these a shot!
