No, leashes and harnesses are dangerous for hamsters because their bones are too fragile. Instead, you can get a playpen or lay a blanket down in a dry bathtub to use as a playpen.

This harness is sized to fit most small pets. To select the best size we recommend that you measure your pet's waist girth (circumference) and neck girth (circumference) and compare to the size chart. To measure the waist girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs and to measure for the neck girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the neck. If the pet happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

I put the harness on my ferret inside the house for a couple of times a day and thought I should cut the straps shorter because the small is too big. So a month later I decide I should take her to the park because it's not too hot, not too cold, and it's supposed to rain in a day. I walk, she hops, plays in the leaves, and does ferret things. When she's tired I pick her up and take her to the car and start unbuckling her. I undo the velcro and the buckle that goes underneath her appendage on the left and it..becomes unstitched? She didn't bite it, and it wasn't caught on anything along the way..so idk what could have happened if we kept walking. I'm thankful that the velcro was there though. I love the leash because it strengthens her and it doesn't stress her out.

My ferret is a TINY lil guy& the bars of his house barely hold him with a standard harness on him, if he struggles against his leash enough/we leave him hooked up and unsupervised for any little Amt of time, we turn back around to find an empty harness& swinging leash! When he’s unharessed there’s no housing him& if there’s a door cracked leading to the laundry room, he’s out! And I live in the mountains where any number of large predators is just drooling at the thought of a house-raised, forrest ignorant ground weasel- perfect little snack. Not only does this harness stay on him beautifully, he doesn’t struggle to be out of it like the H harness we’ve used for years- it wore off a fur patch between his blades& was ALWAYS so itchy in that spot- poor guy. I was apprehensive about this style of harness off-lead, but it’s petfect connected to a leash & on its own. I’m extremely pleased& feel so much more secure with my fuzzbutts wellbeing with winter around the corner& all!

He is chubby so im gonna need to find one of the minimalist leashes. Its designed like a dog leash so it is appealing to the eye with the colors and things but if you actually studied a real rat you would notice things like THEIR FRONT PAWS BEING SHORT ASF and shorter than the back. He can even reach his mouth to eat with his paws. And also lol he got the pink color not that that matters to us but its still funny lol. Will provide pictures later when i update cant rn.

The large, which has a ferret on the front, is wayyy too big for even my fat ferret who is 4lb! He used the medium, with the guinea pig on the front. My little female ferret used the small which has a rat on it. Other than the sizes being labeled inaccurately, they are great harnesses. They have both Velcro and a buckle, so they are basically impossible the escape from. They also have some nice colors, but a few more would be good too. Overall I would recommend these, just measure your small pet first!
