Can I feed this to my Quaker? I’m looking for something that will help replenish his feathers.

Answer by ChewyMar 11, 2020
Kaytee fiesta is specifically formulated to provide skin and feather health, and is nutritionally fortified for parrots.

Can I feed this to my sunconure

Answer by ChewyMar 10, 2023
While seeds can be fed to sun conure, they are high in fat and lack key nutrients. A healthier option is a pellet-based diet that is nutritionally balanced and complete. Seed-based products can be offered to pet birds as occasional treats to supplement a pelleted diet made specifically for pet birds (and appropriately sized for a sun conure).

I got a ton of peanuts in my last orde and had to dig for the actual mixed food and seed that I keep in a tote and the seed mix was very scant...last order was purple food coated heavily in that prebiotic stuff and even turned my hands purple. My birds didn't like it and had to toss it! With the cost rising i hope they send a balanced amount of proper food and get these fillers to a minimum...peanuts are not good!!! These photos are just part of the amount of peanuts, there were a lot more!I This was taken just before I had to reorder and decided to take a few photos.im not paying this high price for mostly peanuts! What happened to quality food for my parrots?

I’m on my second bag of this bird food and this bag is really infested with these moths that originate in bird seed. I normally freeze my small bags of seed to prevent this, but with a huge bag it’s impossible. The product maker must be aware of their issue and I’m surprised they sell the seed knowing this. Unless other wise noted I’m not sure I’ll spend high dollar $$$ for moth infested seed . The product is what it is, the moths shouldn’t be included!

This past year Kaytee parrot seed suddenly became very low quality. It was filthy dirty. In over 32 years I had never needed to have my parrot at the vet but she became frightening symptoms. The vet found no sign of flu, bumps, ect. I described the change in her seed as that was the only change in her environment. I had always fed a combo of pellets and Kaytee seed. I had attempted to clean the seed but wasn't successful. a few days after visiting the vet I took her off the seed completely and changed her diet to go with her pellets. Her symptoms went away and her normal behavior returned. I had spoken to others who had also received poor quality from Kaytee in different types of bird seed for the same months. It was a huge disappointment. Now after about 7months I decided to purchase a small bag and I'm glad to say it is clean! i have kept her on her new feed which is great quality and she prefers it, but reintroduced some Kaytee seed in a treat cup. She enjoys the activity of picking through the seed. I am very glad to know the quality has improved. I was extremely disappointed that Kaytee had willingly put out such a low quality product when they had been such a consistently good product for over 32 years. I understand problems in production happen but do not understand them letting an inferior product be let out to the public and sold to parrots/birds who got sick from it. I'm grateful it is clean again and we can begin building trust with good products again.

-1-Roudybush daily maintenance is only one of the bags of food your small hookbill/parrot/Amazon under 13"/African Grey/Conures. -2-Kaylee Fiesta Variety vegtable mix (African gray on front of the bag) 3 ZuPreme Fruitblend parrot Again, (African gray on front of the bag) 4 Lafeber Nutberries are expensive!!! I use mine for treats...no more than 1 a day!!! (Blue Fronted Amazon on the tub.) This food will last 6 months!!!!!!! Lafeber Nutberries have to be replaced more often. I don't sweat it when I'm running low on funds....I skip the treats sometimes. DIRECTIONS Put new papertowel. In the bottom. This is how we will know what the bird likes. INTRODUCE 1 Diet at a TIME give a small amount today. Tmrw check and see what the bird didn't like. Empty what is left over and feed a small amount of the same food. Try two days of fruit blend. You might see purple pebbles dropped at the bottom of the page. Birds don't like grapes. Try two days of the next bag. This is how I feed my Golfin's Cockatoo. One choice for two days and I rotate another bag for 2 days.

I had been using Hartz parrot food for over 35 years but they have added a LOT of these little round white balls in it. My parrot refuses to eat them. I always give Bo fresh food every day and what he hasn’t eaten I put outside for the birds and squirrels and they won’t eat the white balls either!! I’m tired of having the little balls every where! So I bought this and one other brand and he loves them both, so I just mixed them together and now Bo AND me are happy again!! I have tried the different pellet food and Bo refused to eat it, no matter how long he goes without food. Which after 3 days I give up and give him his seed back. I refuse to let him starve. I have tried to mix with the seed and slowly put less and less seed in until it’s just down to the pellets. Nope, he won’t touch it. Bo is 39 years old and singing songs, laughing and talking and is just fine with the seed,so I give him what he likes. He’s a happy bird!! I give him fresh veggies and some fruits every day. He’s a very happy parrot so I can’t ask for anything more!!

The title sums it all up. Second time around purchasing this and both times everything was right on the money! I always like to mix the two bags together and then fill the containers that I have for storing Charlie’s food (Greenwing Macaw). To insure that there are no hidden “unwanted Larvae or Eggs” from some critter, I take the filled containers and put them into our freezer chest in the garage. I leave them in the freezer for 2 or 3 days before transferring to our refrigerator in the garage. This will eliminate any issues that are possibly hitching a ride. I purchased a 25lb bag of Kaytee Fiesta Variety and a 20lb bag of Kaytee Exact Rainbow Large Parrot Food. I can save a fortune doing the bulk but it does require some time and effort to do what I do and I am lucky enough to have the freezer and refrigerator space to store it.

This is my second 25 pound bag of fiesta parrot seed Both bags look like cockatiel seed 85% being only small seeds that a small bird would eat. This is not the Fiesta that I have purchased for over 10 years. I’m feeding senior birds that refuse to eat pellets and seeds are the majority of their diets.

My umbrella cockatoo has been eating this Fiesta Blend and the Kaytee Exact Rainbow Parrot Food for 30 years. The last few years I've noticed the quality going down. I am on auto ship and the last 4 packages of Fiesta Mix have been riddled with either moths or some sort of fungus. She is a picky eater and is only eating about 1/4 of her bowls. I am searching for a better blend for her. It saddens me to leave such a negative review on what was once a very good product.
