Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2019
These treats are suitable for all large hookbills, such as Parrots, Cockatoos and Macaws. For smaller birds, we recommend the Kaytee Fiesta Mango Flavored Yogurt Dipped Papaya Bird Treats.

Would this be good for a red cap amazon??

This "was" our parrots favorite treat... but there is something really wrong with the last batch (4 bags) that I got. Our parrot won't even taste one any more. The color is darker in this batch, and two or three are stuck together. Not the neat little finger shaped pieces.

I have ordered these many times before, but this time, all of the product in the package looked old. The treats were not a bright orange color, they were dark and looked as if the product was old and sitting around too long. Unfortunate.

Finicky

Nothing wrong with packaging or product. My bird just likes what he likes. Anything he doesn’t like I find at the bottom of his cage.

I bought these for a treat for my birds and squirrels. I have a tiny blue dish I have hanging and the squirrels know I put a surprise in it daily. I watched a raven walk up to my squirrel, (a feeder on the ground for ground feeders and at first he was scared. Then the curiosity got to him and he snuck in for a bite. He loved them. Soon all the birds were trying to get at those bites also.

An unexpected surprise this morning!

I often try treats for my birds that they've never had, hoping for something they'll like, always with mixed results. Some will happily try it, some never will and some will look at the treat...and me, as if I'm trying to poison them with it. I gave this out a little while ago. One of my Amazons, who NEVER tries new treats, picked it up and ate it. All but one of my birds is eating it, and the one that isn't is an elderly bird who is turning down more and more things that she used to like, so her not eating it came as no surprise. This is the first treat that I've had this good of a result with, other than their regular "go-to" treat (Nutri-berries) or my home-made goodies. I was surprised and pleased to find something that went over this well. I'll definitely be getting this for them again. They're soft, approximately 3/4" long and maybe 1/4" diameter. They'd be easy for smaller birds like finches to peck at, but large enough that any size hook bill could hold them in a claw to eat them.

Great

Zorro, our Blue Front Amazon, loves these treats. He even eats them before his peanuts which used to be his favorite.

I have a blue crown conure. I've had him for about a month and have been working on bonding with him and gaining his trust. I thought these treats would be sweet to his liking and big enough so when I go to give it to him by hand my hands would not have to interfere with him grabbing the treat. Needless to say he does not like them. He won't eat it off his perch or out of his food dish. I now just have a full bag of treats that won't be used.
