Kaytee Comfort Small Animal Exercise Wheel, 12-in

For the price, this is a decent wheel. I use it for mice, and I would definitely recommend the 8.5 inch. If your mouse has a dip in his/her back when they are running in the wheel, you know you need a bigger wheel. I will agree with other reviews, this is not the quietest wheel in the world but every cage cleaning, and when I clean the wheel, I dab a little bit of Vaseline on the plastic pin where the wheel attaches to the metal stand and it helps. If you really can’t stand the sound of it, and it bothers you that bad, just do what I do…Take it out of the cage at night. I have found that my mice enjoy it during the day as well as at night, so they aren’t missing out if I take it away at night. They have plenty of other things to climb on and plenty of space to run around so I’m not that worried for them being without it for seven to eight hours.

Literally sounds like a broken washing machine with a pair of shoes also banging in it from day one. Terrible when your hamster uses it for HOURS at night never will get sleep with this thing in your home unless it’s on the far end of your house and you will still hear it. Havent even had it but like a month and when it slows down it SCREECHES now too the entire time or if it barely moves at all. I’ve even tried oiling the inside with coconut oil to see if itd make it less loud and it didn’t help. Had to buy another one. 10 out of 10 recommend getting a silent runner off exotic nutrition if you want to save money but get a good wheel. Its the same price as this and actually silent. Or taking the plunge and getting the bucastate or niteangle wheels because this is a waste of money and if you live in an apartment like I do your neighbors will send in a noise complaint on you because its so loud Cant blame them either.

My Syrian hamster loves loves his wheel. He runs on it all night so I was gonna but him a silent spinner but it's s little pricy right now. So I got this wheel and it's a little noisy I must say but for the price it's good. Sometimes I feel like chucking his wheel out the window because his cage is in my room. But overall I recommend this wheel. It's not silent but it's good for the price :)

Just got this wheel yesterday. So far she loves it. It shouldn’t be used for a Syrian hamster, they need more space, as well as mice, Spooky is a Campbell’s Dwarf hamster. It’s very difficult to take the stand off, so we just let it stay on. The silent spinner we used to use was easier to attach to the cage than this. That’s why I gave this wheel 4/5 stars. I don’t know why people say it is loud, but I’ve only had it for one night, so we’ll see.
