Both bags had mold

It’s the purchase two bags they were kept in a cool, dry place laying flat, and there was a bunch of mold in the bottom of one bag and the other bag was moldy throughout

It’s the purchase two bags they were kept in a cool, dry place laying flat, and there was a bunch of mold in the bottom of one bag and the other bag was moldy throughout. There was no way to salvage any of the food if you looked closely at the pallets, there was mold on the individual pellets. We like to keep stocked with mini brands of food, pellets and crumbles, and we’ve never had mold in any of our food ever until these two bags that were ordered together. It’s possible it had gotten wet during the shipping process we’re really not sure it’s the only time we’ve ever had chicken feed delivered. We usually pick it up ourselves at the feed store. These are the only two bags of ever purchased from this brand. They came highly recommended. You can see in the bottom of one bag that it appears that they may have gotten wet on one end before it arrived here because the mold is in the bottom of one of them, we lay our flat for storing so something had to have happened before it got to us. Huge bummer. Chicken feed is not cheap.

I was worried about making the switch from my chickens chick crumble to pellets. I did a lot of research on how much protein, calcium, vitamins, etc laying hens need to balance their diet and maximize production. I was very impressed that this feed included omegas, all recommended vitamins and other helpful ingredients not included in other chicken feed. It smelled great when I opened the bag and my hens haven’t had any issues making the switch. So far, I’m impressed!

My birds have been on this for a few weeks. I had one lay a soft egg the day we switched but it was just the one. We used to get about 20 eggs a week from our 5 hens but now they're almost all laying daily! On top of that, the eggs have a thick shell and the yolk is tall and dark yellow/orange.

Yolks grew!

I love this feed for my chickens. We were giving them another Kalmbach feed that they liked but I switched to this one just to try it out. I was a little worried

I love this feed for my chickens. We were giving them another Kalmbach feed that they liked but I switched to this one just to try it out. I was a little worried about how they'd adapt to the switch from crumbles to pellets, but they seem to have no issue with it. In fact, they tend to spill it less, resulting in less waste! To top it off, they're all producing probably 50% bigger yolks! This feed is absolutely worth the couple extra bucks.

I really like Kalmbach feeds, and regard their products as high quality. However, I really think this particular product has made my hens produce some extremely

I really like Kalmbach feeds, and regard their products as high quality. However, I really think this particular product has made my hens produce some extremely orange eggs. My family and I were really grossed out with the yolk color, and I will be switching feed products. I have previously fed a different brand of omega enriched feed, also with a color enhancing ingredient, and the eggs were definitely not that orange. If you are fine with extra orange yolks, I would highly recommend this product.
