Is this suitable for parrots such as Yellow Nape Amazon, Cockatoos, or African Grays?

Answer by ChewyAug 28, 2020
This toy is suitable for parakeets, canaries. cockatiels and finches.

How do parakeets get to it to chew on the cuttle bone? Don't they bite the bone from the side? That's how mine do it.

Answer by ChewyJul 20, 2019
The adjustable perch can be moved up or down for easier access to the cuttlebone as it is eaten.

I have tried many versions of a cuttle- bone holder n this is the one that will make me stop looking. Easy to put the cuttlebone in and easy to adjust for a firm hold no matter what size the cuttlebone is. I can attach it up n down or side ways. I use it side ways because my parakeet gets intimidated when things are too big.

My cockatiels would chew around the metal clamp of the cuddlebones and promptly send it crashing to the bottom of the cage with the same day it was installed. -Which they would typically poop on it for good measure shortly after. Needless to say a lot of it got wasted. Not with this thing! Absolutely ingenious!! It holds it up well and even gives them a place to perch where they sometime just like to chill. Cuddlebones last way longer and and the little lip in the bottom catches some of the particles and dust. I’ve seen one bird perched and grinding away at the cuddle bone and another climb over and eat out of the tray for an easy snack. Had this for about a year and no signs of wear and tear. If it does break I will definitely buy another. I also love that even when the cuddlebone is ground down to a small nub, it still holds in place and doesnt fall out.

These are a must have! Easy to clean and have multiple uses!

I ordered two of these JW Pet InSight Cuttlebone Holder Bird Toys. I received two different color combos, as it states in description, color varies! Both are fun

I ordered two of these JW Pet InSight Cuttlebone Holder Bird Toys. I received two different color combos, as it states in description, color varies! Both are fun color combos. Things that make this product great: holds both large and small cuttlebones securely has a small place that catches any "cuttle" shavings But I utilize it as a small treat bin. Perch is great. The cuttle bone "seatbelt" clicks open, insert the cuttle bone, click back. It has multiple "clicks" to accommodate all sizes of cuttle bones! This is a cinch to clean! No metal to rust! The back has a large screw on bolt? that is easy for me to manage due to arthritis! Mounts in seconds! In the past I have also utilized these for fruit and veggies and even millet when I have birds that need those things secured! :) hope that helps. I have used this for finches, parakeets and now for my 3 rescue canaries!

Best holder ever

This is by far the best cuttlebone holder I’ve every purchased! It’s a great size and I love the perch on it! This way you can place it anywhere in your birds cage!

For whatever reason, my daughter’s budgie will not eat the cuttlebone that is attached to the cage by a clip. I put one inside this holder and it’s like I’ve placed a magical portal in her cage that she can’t resist visiting. When the cuttlebone gets smaller, it does slide out though, so it would be nice if there was a lip or something added at the bottom.

SO FAR SO GOOD!

Wasn't sure at first since the perch was broken on it BUT we decided to try them anyway without the perches that attach to it. Turns out our cockatiels didn't care

Wasn't sure at first since the perch was broken on it BUT we decided to try them anyway without the perches that attach to it. Turns out our cockatiels didn't care about the perches. Lilly ran right to it & started munching away. Opie likes it too when Lilly shares. Smokey, however, is very wary of his. He had a hard start in life & is very cautious of everything. I put millet in his. His FAVORITE TREAT! (He's always been scared of cuttlebones but figured out how to slip it to him) I'm hoping he likes it. Nothing personal if he doesn't. I'll give it to Opie if he's too scared. That way, our pair, Lilly & Opie will each have their own! Lol!! My order wasn't small and got here WAY FASTER THAN EVER IMAGINED! THANK YOU CHEWY! The delivery person is going to HATE us!! Lol! THANK YOU!

Birds like it

This holder is so much better than the thin metal thing that is attached to the cuttlebones. My birds would go to the cuttlebone and the first time they used it

This holder is so much better than the thin metal thing that is attached to the cuttlebones. My birds would go to the cuttlebone and the first time they used it I would hear a bang and the cuttlebone was on the bottom of the cage. No matter what I did the cuttlebone would not stay attached to the side of the cage, now it does. Birds are happy and so am I.

Cuttlebone Holder

Theses are great! My Cockatiels knocked there cuttlebones to the floor of the cage. I tried every way I could think of to keep them up. I saw this and it works great!

Theses are great! My Cockatiels knocked there cuttlebones to the floor of the cage. I tried every way I could think of to keep them up. I saw this and it works great! Catches the dust from the bone, plenty of room for my cockatiels to perch and enjoy their cuttlebone. Going to order another with my next order.
