I received a 7 day supply of the JustFoodForDogs JustFresh Human Grade Home-Cooked Turkey Recipe Fresh Dog Food foot my 9 year old GSP to try out. He absolutely loved it! The first day he didn’t realize what he was getting but the second day and the days after, he would go bonkers and dance for it! He is s as larger dog so he would need two packs a day. Because I wanted to supplement it into his daily routine I only gave him one each morning. The pack is easy to open with a notch tear at the top. The food does slide out but I did occasionally use a fork to get the little bits still in the pack. It has a very strong smell that I was not prepared for but I think that made my pup love it even more. Did was taking more sold poops and surprisingly was not gassy. I will be purchasing this as a treat meal in the future.

I was generously offered a free 6 pack order of this to try it out on my pup and wrote a review. At first I tried to make the switch to fast and it upset his little tummy, so we took it a bit slower. I initially let him taste it off a spoon to see what he thought, and he LOVED IT! So I put some in his bowl, mixed half and half with his kibble (I do this with his current food too). He gobbled it up in seconds! It was a big hit. The packaging is a little difficult, it doesn’t open up very far, so I had to scoop it out with a spoon, no big deal there. Because I tried to switch to quickly, it did upset his tummy at first, so we took it slower and he did fine. He hasn’t been this excited about meal time in a long time! I will definitely continue to feed it to him.

It’s clear this isn’t your average dog food, it actually looks and smells like real, home-cooked food because it is. I love knowing that I’m feeding her something made with human-grade ingredients and no fillers or mystery meat. This recipe has been gentle, nourishing, and consistently well-received; not a bite left behind. Her coat looks shinier, her energy is up, and mealtime has become her favorite part of the day. Hazelnut's first time trying this dog food. She loves it. I initially tried giving it to her by itself and nothing else. Well that did not sit well with her tummy and her bathroom time was not good. So I started mixing it with her dry food and that was better. So she eats twice a day and I mix it with her dry food. She enjoys it and cannot wait to eat. I love the ingredients and so does Hazel. One pouch will last 2 to 3 days. I place the leftovers in the refrigerator after each use. It is a little pricey, which is understandable considering it is not kibble. The only issue that I have it the pouch. It is hard to get the food out of the pouch. I have plastic utensils that I use to scoop the food out of the pouch. I also cut open the pouch with a scissors to get out the remainder of the food, when it is close to the end. This should be addressed, other than that I have no issues.

We have been subscribing to frozen delivery food from Ollie for a year - and just tried JustFresh Home Cooked Turkey for a little over a week. What really stands out is the convenience - unlike Ollie and many other fresh dog foodsJustFresh doesn't require refrigeration or freezing before opening. This is a game-changer for storage and eliminates the freezer space problems we've had with Ollie. The ingredient list is impressive and transparent. My dog Oban enthusiastically devours it at mealtime, similar to how he enjoys his Ollie meals. The food looks and smells like real home-cooked food rather than processed kibble. While Ollie has been our go-to fresh food, JustFresh offers comparable quality with the significant advantage of shelf-stability before opening. Ollie requires constant freezer space and thawing planning, which JustFresh eliminates entirely. However, Ollie has caused fewer digestive issues for my dog. I did notice some digestive adjustment with loose stool, likely due to not transitioning gradually enough from Ollie to JustFresh. For other doggo parents, I recommend following the proper transition protocol over several days. JustFresh Turkey is an excellent alternative to Ollie for quality-conscious dog owners who want the benefits of fresh food without the refrigeration hassle. Just remember to transition slowly when switching from another premium food like Ollie.

I've tried other "fresh" dog food brands & they're all pretty much the same. They offer a few flavors & come in messy pouches that aren't resealable & must be kept refrigerated or frozen. If the power goes out, it can take quite a toll financially. While JFFD does sell some perishable products, they also have several shelf-stable recipes in ziplock-style packets & easy to scoop boxes. Single-ingredient treats & all-natural supplements round out their product line, providing lots of options. Their pricing is similar to other brands. All are understandably more expensive than low-quality kibble, but not too pricey when used as a topper or if alternating with home-cooked meals. Nutrition is the #1 factor in longevity. Pets fed a less-processed diet live longer, happier lives. By investing in their health upfront, I'm convinced I've saved on the back end with fewer vet visits. My little Ivy is enjoying her special dinners & excited to try all the different flavors!

We use this for our dog with allergies. The other dog actually gets some of it as well and she likes it too. Again the biggest issue with this type of food is the pricing. You have to expect that if you were going to serve human grade food to your dogs. Our issue with the German Shepherd we have is horrible allergies to certain binding products and dog food. Things like starch, peas, chickpeas chickpea flour, some of the other grains as well, set her off. This product is good because it isn’t frozen and can sit unopened until you’re ready to use it without needing to thaw. It’s convenient to take with you for travel and I use it as a topper to her special dry kibble. Overall with the coupon it was a good price, but not sure I’ll continue buying.

I have been trying to find a "human grade" food that I can incorporate into our daily feedings, but without breaking the bank. I have tried freeze dried, this is obviously more convenient for me, but hate that it looks like chunks of cardboard. Even hydrated, it looks unappealing. Just For Pets ticks most of the boxes, but the packaging is like squeezing a tube of frosting. The food sticks to my utensils as I try to scoop it out. It's made more difficult by the closure being at the top. My hand gets messy trying to get the bottom portion. It doesn't really look like the "fluffy" meal you see portrayed in the ads. Too much broth? I took a pack to my daughters dogs and used it as a topper on their kibble. It enticed them both into eating both the topper & the kibble. They were excited! Shep (my Shepherd) is a picky eater. So, I am on the fence regarding staying with Just Fresh, or continuing to search for a human grade food that satisfies him, but is also convenient for me. Good luck to pet parents out there searching for a healthier option to feed your pets!!

We use the JustFresh home-cooked turkey recipe and my dog loves it! He gobbles up his food so fast I may have to get him a slow feeding dish! We use it as a nutrient boost with his other food. I really like that the ingredients are actual real foods (turkey, oats, rice, carrots, kale, etc) I recognize and not unrecognizable fillers. I feel better knowing he's receiving good nutrients to help keep him with us for a long time. Highly recommend if you care about the quality of the food your furry family member is eating!

My dogs (2 dachshunds) are on a soft Food diet after loosing many teeth with age. They have been on farmers dog for years but we have found the frozen nature to be too cumbersome. We’ve moved to a place with a smaller freezer and keeping food 2 dogs was too much. This has been a smoother transition for them, they like it and it’s easy to keep in a cupboard. Ingredients are good and dogs are happy - clean bowls every time
