I was feeding my 30lb beagle mix Orijen before this and on Orijen my dog Clover kept having extreme grass cravings in the morning with inconsistent poops/diarrhea. Jinx was a food brand I wanted to try especially in this grain-inclusive and chicken flavor because of it being rated 5/5 on the dogfoodadvisor website. It works perfectly for me. Because of discussions with my vet the daily caloric intake for Clover is 475 calories a day so I feed her a heaping 1/2 cup and this 11.5lb has lasted me 6 weeks which also falls perfectly for keeping the kibble fresh and effective. I also DEEPLY appreciate the resealable bag, and that the first ingredient is organic chicken. I think we will be lifelong customers of Jinx!

My dog has been very stubborn about eating kibble since our other dog passed over a year ago. He used to get excited about ANY food so it got her excited...even though maybe she didn't love kibble like him. So when he was gone she was refusing any crunchy food I tried. If I didn't put something like a soft food mixed in, she wouldn't eat for days. So much for "if they get hungry they'll eat it" right :/ right?! Everyone in the family hated to feed her but me, bc of everything I had to do to make food palatable for her. I have recently switched to try this kibble because I finally asked chat gpt out of frustration, and it suggested I try jinx...due to its high favorability rating and also being that it is decently healthy food too, I did not want to feed her junky food. I am happy to report that she actually has eaten this food with no add-ons which makes it easier for the whole family to just feed her when needed. Yay

He seemed to really like it, more so than the other variations that I realized wow I need to get another bag already; the stores around only carry the grain free version but when I got it he didn’t do his usual pushing it all out of his bowl and dug right in, would definitely recommend; and hadn’t seen to upset his stomach as there wasn’t tradition time from one flavor to the other ordering around the holidays it was a little delayed, he’s been a fan, he did a few nose pushes out and even cleaned the mess he made on the dog mat and licked the bowl clean, of dry food. Definitely continuing with this flavor for him with their gravy bottle once in a while when he’s being picky I used to have to use with the salmon and beef one

I'm no expert, but they've added sorguhm and yucca, the order (thus amounts) of ingredients have changed and several chemical names are different. Here's a pic of the actual ingredients. Our dog loved this food before but I don't like changes that aren't upfront. I wrote Jinx to ask for explanation but got no reply.

My dogs 4 & 12. Like all of the previous reviews and families out there are my family and my heart. I cooked for these babies always and they are so spoiled when it comes to food that I don’t know what to do. The lil one Lulu eats almost anything but picking up picky and almost impossible habit of my Titan to the point of having no options. I have even cooked 3 different types of steak chicken and this is embarrassing but a rack of lamb in the same night just to try and find something he would eat. God’s honest truth. I have spent more money on every kind of dry , wet and even freeze dried dog food to no avail. They eat sometimes for one day or just even a couple bites but that’s even pushing it but they turn their heads and walk away. I decided to try this about 5 months ago and to my surprise they ate it. Ok sounds normal but….to my bigger surprise they kept eating and when I found them sneaking out at night to the living room and chomping down like alligators and eating the Jinx food. I have bought 4 bags to this day and the same kind and I have quit cooking all their food and have been so dang happy knowing that if they get hungry they will eat this food and after 11 years of trying I finally found the one! My dog came to me at 5 months with only eating dry food lamb and rice and was fine with it until he got a taste of the cats wet food and omg never turned back. Ty Jinx for finally letting my dogs eat what they should have been getting for the past 10 years and even better is they love it. They not not only love it they are getting after all the years of me thinking I was doing them the best ever by bbq or broiling even roasting and dehydration of their meats they have eaten what’s made for and best for them as my family pets. Thank you for changing not only their lives but mine also.
Yeasty Smelling Fur
I've been on quite the journey trying to find a food my English White Lab will flourish on and not have adverse reactions to. I switched to Jinx Chicken, Brown Rice
I've been on quite the journey trying to find a food my English White Lab will flourish on and not have adverse reactions to. I switched to Jinx Chicken, Brown Rice & Sweet Potato dog food and my dog loves the food, has great energy, and has solid poops. BUT over a few weeks of being on the food his fur has started smelling yeasty, he's been licking his paws a ton, has bad gas quite often, and his skin is irritated under his fur. I thought it was due to swimming in the pool a few times a week but after giving him a bath the smell came back within hours. I have 2 other dogs that are on a different food and swim in the pool the same amount as my White lab and their fur doesn't smell like my white labs fur does. So I can only think that it is due to the dog food. I'll be switching my dog to the grain free Jinx mix and see if that makes a difference.

Chicken is not tolerated by some dogs

Sharing this in hopes it will be helpful to others. This was not about Jinx...but it was about a protein that my dog can't tolerate. Going back to salmon and may try beef. Wasn't sure how to do this rating without dinging Jinx, but still sharing about various proteins that may not be tolerated.
