I switched my two Maine Coon Cats to Iams ProActive Health Urinary Tract Health after my girls celebrated their 13th birthday in January. They're well traveled sisters who rode in the back seat from Arizona to Virginia. I had been feeding them the Adult Healthy Weight variety of dry food as one sister is a tad overweight since they can't get outside excersise anymore. I've known about cats frequentely developing urinary tract issues so I decided to take preventative measures and change their food. I was shocked when Phoebe started having kitty zoomies again and I noticed she was slowly losing some of her excess weight since I've switched their kibble variety. Now her sister Gretchen has always been the playful youngster of the two and she is thriving too. I never expected that a urinary tract health dry cat food would produce such happy healthy results. I will remain true to Iams and am eternally grateful for keeping my senior girls happy and healthy. Did I mention that they absolutely love it too?

I had been feeding all my cats, ages 10-17, the same mix of dry food from Science Diet and Purina Pro Plan. Siamese cats are prone to urinary tract issues, and Jasper, my elderly 17-year old Siamese male, recently developed symptoms. He had two issues: weight loss and avoidance of the litter box. The vet performed extensive bloodwork tests, which were conclusive. She prescribed potassium gluconate, but Jasper couldn’t keep it down. I’ve owned cats for 5 decades and decided to seek advice from Google, as perhaps I had detected Jasper’s trouble early. As a result, I made two changes to his diet. First, supplementing his dry food with lickable urinary tract squeezables, since an all-dry food diet lacks the moisture needed to dilute urine. Second, adding Iams Proactive to the daily mix of dry food. Jasper has noticeably improved, returning to healthy weight and resuming use of the litter box. Not only Jasper, but all my cats, are now eating Iams, as a precaution against potential UT issues in future.

My cats love this food and need the urinary diet so when it arrived during a rain storm and the delivery driver left it to get soaking wet, I was not very happy. However, chewy’s customer service answered back on my chat very fast and got me a new bag of food. The customer service representative, Stephanie A., was very helpful and personable! Thank you very much Stephanie A.!!

I keep my cats on Urinary formula to prevent issues that could arise. I used to get the Purina One but they changed their formula and my cats, and those of others who use it, were vomiting with a frequency that was consistent enough to assume it was the food. My guys love the Iams and that makes me happy!

Works great for mild urinary issues for my male cat. Iams seems to have better ingredients. Chicken as first ingredient, and the large size kibble is helpful for the teeth. I still feed him prescription urinary UR with this Iams because the vet told me the prescription diet work better for acute and more severe urinary problems. The nonprescription like Iams is for mild case and maintaining a healthy urinary tract. I feed him 50/50 mix of prescription ur urinary and Iams. He's been on it for about 2 weeks and so far, my little timid guy is doing well.

I bought this food because I have a cat with chronic urinary crystals. He’s had many surgeries and finally a PU surgery and he still has a pretty difficult time. I had been giving him science diet CD prescription food. He hated the wet, but all the other cats liked it (at $2.50 a can) and I was giving him the dry as well and letting everybody else eat it and they eventually got sick of it and I got sick of spending $75 bag. My veterinarian recommended this food as an alternative. I bought a small bag the first time I ordered it and a big bag the second time and they still like it!! I don’t think this is a miracle that will ever happen again in my lifetime. This is Duke living his best time shortly after we brought him home from adopting him from the shelter.

My male cat got a UTI awhile back, so I switched him to this food after learning that male cats are more susceptible to them. Both my little old lady cat and my boy really seem to love this food. And my boy hasn't gotten another UTI. The vet said they are both at a healthy weight (even with free feeding) and they are both in great health. It's circumstantial evidence, yes, but enough to keep me using it until it's proven otherwise. And it's not crazy expensive, which is a HUGE plus. I definitely recommend this food to other cat owners!

My cat began having bladder issues. I took him to the vet and she put him on a prescription diet. He started out fine, eating it well. It was wet when he was used to dry. I started having some issues getting it from the vet, I guess they were having supply issues, or forgetting to order it, they could be hard to get a hold of at times as well because they were busy. My cat wasn’t wanting to eat it as much as he was anyway so I got the next best thing, an otc hills science diet for urinary health. He ate it for a little while then would only eat small portions of it. Switched to Purina thinking switching up the flavors would help. Did for a little while. Which he wasn’t having the bladder issues anymore, I got him a water fountain to help with water intake also. One of the vet assistants had recommended this particular Iam’s prior to him being prescribed the wet food. So I thought I would try it. He loves it and eats it consistently. Have not had any issues while being on it. As I said I also got him a water fountain though to encourage water consumption so that probably helped as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone that has a cat that may be prone to bladder issues which is really any cat especially males. I learned a lot when my kitty got sick.
