Iams Proactive Health Kitten Chicken Recipe Dry Cat Food, 16-lb bag

We had a small, tiny adult cat show up to our property and ran into the garage and had kittens! Sigh. But they are so cute! We have inside cats and feed them a larger dry kibble, but wanted to find something with smaller bites since the mother kitty is so tiny. The Vet thought she was under 6 months old when she gave birth. So sad! It’s been a struggle to keep weight on her while she’s breastfeeding these kittens. The Iam’s Kitten worked perfectly! The flavor keeps her eating it as a side dish, along with wet food. The kits are almost ready to be weaned and they are starting to take bites of the food that comes out. Normally I would be worried about the size of the kibble, but not with this. Super small bites that even the kittens have no problem eating. I’ll continue to buy it. I’ve been mixing it in with our inside cats food, and they love it, too!

I am deeply disappointed in Chewy’s search feature. When I searched for “grain-free dry kitten food,” I expected the results to strictly include grain-free options. Instead, Iams ProActive Health Kitten food, which is not grain-free, appeared prominently in the results. Unfortunately, I trusted the search results and fed this food to my kitten, who has a diagnosed condition requiring a grain-free, low-fat diet. This oversight has cost me dearly. My kitten has been battling illness for months, and I have spent over $1,000 in veterinary bills trying to address his health issues. Had I scrutinized the ingredient list sooner, I could have avoided feeding him food that exacerbated his condition. Chewy needs to improve its search algorithms to ensure that only products matching the exact search terms are shown. Pet parents trust your platform for accurate recommendations, and this kind of misinformation can lead to severe consequences for pets and significant financial and emotional stress for their owners. Pet owners: Please read ingredient lists carefully. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

I got this Iams proactive health for a healthy kitten as I am helping my neighbor to watch their kitten while they are at work. I love that it's 100% complete & balanced kitten nutrients without any fillers. It also helps with digestion and natural fiber and prebiotics as that's super important for kittens 1- 12 months. It's made in the USA, very easy to use and the pebbles are small enough for tiny kittens. It has omega-3 DHA to promote healthy brain development, Taurine for healthy eyes, probiotics for digestion, Vitamin E for immune system, and essential minerals including calcium for those bones to grow strong and big! I love that it has a chart to see how much to feed the kitten based on weeks and weight. Very helpful! It helps the kittens stay at a healthy weight and not overeat. Just the right amount and pebbles for a tiny kitten mouth! One thing I do wish to see improvement on is a resealable bag, as once I open it I had to pour it into a container so it doesn't get bad.

I recently adopted 2 12 week old kittens that where never ever placed on any sort of nutritional diets after weaning. They came to full of fleas, full of worms, use to cheap dollar tree adult cat food. One has respiratory issues and allergies. I started both babies on this and they attacked it, neither kitten could get enough and have been eating so much. I love the nutritional value this has for them since they have lacked nutrition their whole lives unfortunately. I would very much so highly recommend this to sick cats of any age and to kittens. They have seem to come alive and are super happy not only to be out of their nasty situation they where forced to be in but now that they are getting their needs met they are playing, bouncing around and just totally different kittens. The kibble size is also very tiny, I like that seens how these 2 are so teeny tiny for 12 weeks old.
