HydrOasis Frogbit Floating Live Pond Plant, 3 count

I have never had frogbit before--these seem to be a bigger variety. Shipping was fast and the plants were all green were arrived. Roots looked healthy, only had to trim a bit. Plants could have been packaged better through, unfortunately had some broken stems, which led to dead leaves. Also not all the stems were facing the same direction (hard to tell what was "up")? Maybe this is normal but I wonder how they were grown

This frogbit plant came packaged well and even in the heat of Florida summer arrived in great condition. I knew there would be some dieback when i placed it in my pond until it adjusted. It only took a week or 2 for it to have new growth after placing it in my pond. I chose this plant because my pond can get pretty warm in the summer and any shade I can use helps. Also frogbit tends to be hardy and easy to grow and so far so good. My only concern was this plant surviving my turtles who would eat it up if I placed it in the pond without protection so I put it in a pot with holes in it and zip tied it to the side so it would float in the pond but be protected from my turtles. So far so good! Ignore the green water. Fighting off algae in this heat is impossible right now.

I have a tiny pond that measures only 3 feet in diameter. I originally installed it to attract frogs, but I also got a couple goldfish and some snails. I wanted some floating plants to provide shade and hiding places for the fish and tadpoles, as well as to help keep the shallow pond cooler. I know nothing about floating plants and chose HYDROASIS FROGBIT because of its catchy name. Frogbit floats on the surface, but to give the new plants some support while they are starting, I filled a plant pot with clay pebbles and set it on a ledge inside the pond so that the surface of the pot was level with the surface of the water in the pond, and I gently set the plant roots into the water and clay pebbles. Within a few days, new growth appeared. I’m looking forward to when the HYDROASIS FROGBIT has spread across the pond! It really is a beautiful plant.

The plants came in excellent condition even though it’s very hot here right now. They look amazing in our pond I included a photo! I highly recommend these.
