We adopted this mostly Lacy Hound Mix as a baby; he came to CO from TX with many issues..many issues it took about 8 months to get him healthy. DVMs stated Purina, Royal or Science; he would only eat the science sensitive stomach chicken the most. We also tried PureVita (all flavors), Farmers, and other large brand foods from high end stores. We mix his science with canned Weruva and still give him puppy wet Weruva or adult wet Weruva formulas and have since 12 weeks old. He will be 2 years old March 2026. Due to his heart condition we cannot give him high protein/high fat, however he is highly active, also he is not food driven. Will casually eat walk away come back, he eats like a normal dog only when hungry. He is lean like a normal hound dog should be with no fat. Unfortunately he is bored with the science chicken and takes the dry pieces out of bowl now leaves on the floor only eating the Weruva. It is hilarious to watch. The science has been amazing for almost two years he is solid and healthy as he can be even with minor heart issue. Back to the drawing board, he would not eat the Purina sensitive stomach. Maybe try the Purevita again, limited ingredient not too high protein or fat? Wish science had more options, he would not eat the cod sensitive stomach? If you have unhealthy baby Judy know this food truly got him through those tough years!

I have 2 put of 4 dogs with sensitive skin & stomach. There's less shedding, less itching, more active. My oldest, Princess, has cancer & is 11 years old. She doesn't act like it!! She acts like she's 7 years old!! Tha ks to this specific dog food. Also, don't need extra vitamins/minerals because this dog food has all they need!! It's cheaper than buying dog food, bottles of vitamins & minerals plus medicine to help stop the itching. Pay $80 for a 30 lb bag... ALL in 1!! And, they dogs love it, eat less because there aren't any fillers or additives!!

My package was fine nothing was hurt but the delivery guy needs to be gone he threw my box on the porch. We have him on video and we are having a little bit of an issue contacting a person at FedEx. I can’t upload a picture but here is a screenshot. I am glad I didn’t have anything breakable. I give Chewy.com a five star but FedEx a Zero!

A few weeks ago, Butterscotch was scratching herself so much that she started bleeding in some spots. We washed her with oatmeal shampoo, but nothing seemed to make a difference. Then I remember we switched her dog food a week earlier. Realizing she may have a food allergy, we got the Hill's Science Diet. She's normal very reluctant to eat dry dog food, but she loved it. Within a couple days I noticed she was itching less. After a week, almost all the redness around her belly went away. I think she'll always have allergies, but this dog food has made a huge impact in minimizing the severity.

When I first got my boy, who is half Pyrenees and half mutt, I struggled to find a food brand that agreed with him. My other dog at the time was on Purina Pro Plan’s Sensitive Stomach (the salmon formula) as he had a chicken allergy. But after a few months, I realized he was still having soft/loose stool. 3 other brands and months later, I decided to splurge and try this food for him. It might be expensive but MAN, it was worth it and I’ll never switch him to anything else after seeing how well he has done on it for several years now. His stools are consistently solid, his coat is soooo soft, and he is as healthy as can be. Highly recommend this food to anyone who has struggled with a sensitive bellied pup!

I’ve got a 2 year old pitbull, and he’s got such a sensitive stomach. Over the last year of having him I have tried like 3-4 different foods, none of which really worked for us. He was always excessively red and itchy, and had diarrhea/vomiting at random. Sometimes he would refuse to eat and I would have to mix his food with chicken or pumpkin to try and entice him. The vet kept wanting to medicate him, but it never fixed the issue long term. I ended up switching to this food, and once I had fully switched him over his stools improved dramatically and he stopped vomiting. He went from a few upset stomachs weekly to none so far. He’s now super excited about meal times because he really likes the taste. I’ve been feeding this for almost a month now, and his skin has also improved. His skin isn’t completely where I want it to be, but I think that will take a bit more time to clear. I’m also trying to find allergy friendly treats. But i definitely recommend trying this food if your dog is sensitive, it seems the bulk of his health issues were allergy/food related.

Our dog struggled with acid reflux, vomiting, and itching for the first 8ish months we had him until we switched him to this food. We noticed almost an immediate difference. He went from needing Pepcid daily to no tummy problems whatsoever. He’s now almost 5 and still gets SO many compliments on how shiny his coat is and how healthy he looks. Our vet is always pleased with his weight, too. It’s a little more pricey than some brands, but definitely worth it to know my 4-legged best friend is getting quality food.

Enormous Benefit

I have an adopted pitbull mix whose itching and thin hair I assumed was due to her severe seasonal allergies. While she does still have seasonal allergies this food greatly helped her level of comfort and the appearance of her coat. Since starting this food she grew hair all over her stomach and inner thighs (all of which used to be bare ) and her coat is now soft, shiny, thick and much darker. I had no idea what a pretty pup she is! Poor dog, I should have switched her food to this years ago! It's really been a game changer. While each dog is different I would definitely give this a try if you have an itchy pup, a pup experiencing hair loss, or a pittie or pittie mix with sensitive skin. After starting this food I also noticed she smells so much better! Her hair seems less dry, and her skin is no longer irritated and oily. Thank you Science Diet!
