Hi. Does this food come in 20# or 25# bags? Not convenient to have small bags - more $$$ in long run as well

Answer by ChewyOct 15, 2018
At this time we only carry the 3 pound bag of this food.

How long does one bag last for a conure usually?

Answer by ChewyJul 17, 2019
Fill your pet bird’s food container with as much food as it will consume in a 24 hour period. Usually for conures, cockatiels, lovebirds and other small hookbill birds, the portion may range between ¼ to ½ cup of food per bird. A 3 lb bag will yield 6 cups.

is this good for lovebirds?

Answer by ChewyNov 08, 2019
This bird food is formulated with the specific health needs of conures and cockatiels in mind, however it's suitable for lovebirds and other small hookbill birds.

Are these good treats for indian ringnecks?

The bag came half full. I’m not used to that. I don’t know if things changed, but it came to me half full. The things that I don’t wanna return it because my birds really do need it so if it looks a little more empty, that’s because I had to open it because They had to eat.

I have a 14 year old Female Green Cheek Conure and she absolutely loves this food. My avian vet recommended this food because he said something about females should not be eating foods with sun flower seeds and that this food was a better choice. There is a nice variety in this mix and my girl will drop all the papaya out of her dish but she is happy and healthy and eating this food at least 4 years. I plan to keep her on this food since she likes it and vet gave the ok.

Good mix

This is a pretty good mix, not as much wasted material as with many mixes out there. However, there are still some wasted 'filler' pieces that get ignored/not eaten

This is a pretty good mix, not as much wasted material as with many mixes out there. However, there are still some wasted 'filler' pieces that get ignored/not eaten. Also, some of the chunks of dried fruit are very large, and peanuts (shelled) are whole. My small conure can't hold on whole peanuts or large chunks in her claw very easily so they get dropped on the floor. I have to cut each dried fruit chunk into smaller pieces first, and break apart the whole peanuts. She is then able to hold them in her claw and nibble at them. Not a huge deal, just would be handy if they made the same thing but with smaller pieces for smaller parrots.

Infested with beetles

Higgins is a good seed mix been giving it to my cockatiels for several years. I have been ordering from Chewy for many years and very disappointed in their lack

Higgins is a good seed mix been giving it to my cockatiels for several years. I have been ordering from Chewy for many years and very disappointed in their lack of quality control. The bag was infested with beetles. The bag must of been sitting in their warehouse for a long time and high temperatures for this to come about. I am lucky my birds didn't get sick! I am not ordering from Chewy no more. I will go to a store and purchase off the shelf better expiration date and fresh. If you buy this make sure you check your bag before feeding your birds!! And return if there is.

My boys are ridiculously picky eaters. It only took a few days to get then switched to this new food! I'm cutting down on their sunflower seed intake, so im really glad i found this brand. In an ideal world, I'd buy the seeds at a local co-op and make my own mix, however until I'm financially stable again this seed mix is the next best thing!

Our babies love the food and it’s very healthy for them. We used to give a different food to the others that we already had but after we got the babies we decided

He loves it!

My cockatiel Yagi loves this mix! I know that they are prone to obesity so I made sure there were no sunflowers since it’s high in fats. Me along with some family

My cockatiel Yagi loves this mix! I know that they are prone to obesity so I made sure there were no sunflowers since it’s high in fats. Me along with some family members are allergic to peanuts, so this was the perfect choice as they can get food everywhere. My two budgies even like this, even if they can’t open the big seeds. The previous owner didn’t give him such a diverse amount of seeds so he didn’t know how to eat them. After some curiosity and patience he finally learned how. The only downside is that he doesn’t like the pellets in the mix and when I mix in another brand of pellets to get him to eat just pellets (seeds as a snack), it’s so diverse with all those other seeds that I just stick to a 1:2 ratio instead. He’s been eating this seed mix for almost 6 months now and looks great!
