BEST, most durable ball EVER!

Our little Bernedoodle is the Toy Terminator: she’d never met a toy she couldn’t destroy, shred, rip, eviscerate, or completely decimate within minutes of receiving it UNTIL we got her the Hartz Dura Play ball. This is hands down the BEST, most durable and long-lasting toy we’ve found. And we’ve wasted hundreds of dollars trying all the others: Kong, Jolly Ball, the “Indestructible” toys, toys for aggressive chewers, you name it, she’s destroyed it! These Harz Dura Play balls are magical. She’s had them for months and they are all still INTACT. They’re amazing. Not only that, but they’re so nice and squishy she loves them as well! We have a Bark Super Chewer subscription and while those toys are very sturdy, they’re hard as rocks and heavy as rocks too! She doesn’t really like them. These Hartz balls are light, rubbery, squishy, and she LOVES them. Carries them everywhere. They’ve lasted through countless games of fetch, tog of war, indoors and outdoors. They’re amazing. Once I realized how well these last, I purchased her every toy in the Dura Play line -the boomerang, the squeaky bones, more balls- they’re all excellent. BUY THIS TOY for your super chewer!! Finally, a toy that’s worth the money!

I do not recommend this for dogs. My dog does NOT chew up toys. She has had the same ball toys for 8 years. She has had this bacon ball for only 4 months. It is still in one piece with just teeth marks from regular play/fetch. For weeks I have been finding tiny pieces of a white foam-like substance all around my house. I could not figure out what it was or where it was coming from. My dog has been sick for a week with vomiting and diarrhea. Finally, I noticed that the pink bacon ball had some of the white specks on it, so I cut it open and the ball is FULL of white foamlike powder. It has been falling out of the ball and my dog has been ingesting it, making her sick. BE CAREFUL with this product!!!

This IS a good toy. The reason why it's rated a bit lower is for a few different reasons and I guess for my dogs own personal preferences. I am comparing this to the Kong air squeak (Luna's favorite fetching toy) pros: it's very squeaky which makes a good toy for more independent play and less fetch. Luna enjoyed both but she also loved kicking it around the yard. Luna catches it easily in her mouth better than the kong. Pro/Con: it gets dirty very quickly especially if you have a clay/grassy back yard. Good thing is you can easily rinse it off in the sink, something you can't do with the kong or any other tennis sort of ball. Cons: Luna didn't know exactly how to hold it in her mouth at first and still has some difficulty placing it in her mouth even though it's the same size as the kong. My guess is that it's a bit differently shaped and probably a bit slippery after a few throws. The squeak is also VERY loud and high pitched. I'm sure your dog loves that aspect but it did give me a bit of a headache. Overall Luna still loves the toy/product, but it did not beat her favorite. Shes not super destructive but if something happens to the three pack, I would probably purchase again, but maybe for only one ball.

Best squeaky ball for dogs of all breeds

My 50-lb mutt loves this magnificent bacon-flavored squeaker — and so does almost every dog we meet at our local dog beach! I feel like Hartz should give us a commission

My 50-lb mutt loves this magnificent bacon-flavored squeaker — and so does almost every dog we meet at our local dog beach! I feel like Hartz should give us a commission (they don't!) because every time we go to the beach, dogs try to steal it and their humans ask where they can get the ball. Sure enough, the next time we see them, they have a Dura Play lololol. Here's a sample of dog breeds who have run away with our ball (I buy it in all 3 sizes; it's really a matter of preference and mood): Great Dane, Labradoodle, French poodle, German shepherd, husky, cattle dog, bulldog, corgi, Doberman, Newfie, Berner, basset hound... I could go on and on. I always bring two or three to the beach or dog park because I know I might lose one or two to a happy thief. I have no problem with that, however, because that's how we discovered the DuraPlay ourselves — when our dog stole one herself lolololol. Note: The small size works perfectly with the Chuck-It launcher! Finally, the ball is a lifesaver during out-of-control Extreme Zoomies hours. I just grab a new one and she will be satisfied for an hour. It comes with great risk, however: When these are new, the squeaker is LOUD. And I'm sure our neighbors don't love it when she plays with a new one in the backyard. Caveat: the bacon flavor does wear off and the squeaker eventually stops working, but our aggressive chewer has never destroyed a ball. She'll still play catch (again, the small size works with a launcher) but is definitely less interested without the squeak. Hack: You can extend the life of the squeaker by tightly squeezing the ball to release slobber (!!!) or often in our case actual water.

Too large, need a middle size

We loved the small version of this ball, but wanted to get a step up for our puppy as she’s gotten bigger. The jump from small to large is huge, she can’t even pick

We loved the small version of this ball, but wanted to get a step up for our puppy as she’s gotten bigger. The jump from small to large is huge, she can’t even pick them up, let alone play with them. We’ll keep them and hope as she gets closer to a year that she can get her mouth around them.

One year old Goldens Love these balls!!!

I originally purchased two of these balls in the large size for our 2 Golden Retriever puppies. I did not know if they would like them, being they are only rubber balls. These things are now their most favorite toy they have, and yes they are spoiled with many toys. We now have 7 of these balls and they go crazy over every one of them. They smell a bit like bacon. They squeak most of the time when they are chewing them and playing with them. They like these more than the fuzzy yellow balls from another brand that our previous golden loved. I believe these to be indestructible because they chew on these and have yet to leave a mark in them and they still squeak.

Dogs love this ball BUT the foam makes a mess..

I have a German shepherd and a chihuahua/Papillion mix. The little one usually isn't a fan of balls, but he loves this one. The squeaker is very durable and I love that the ball is very soft so if it bounces off their heads or whatever it doesn't hurt them. However, this ball did get a couple small holes in it from being chomped on while we were playing fetch and all these little foam pieces started flying out every time they would catch or grab the ball hard. It made a mess everywhere so that it really the only downside. My dogs do love it a lot so I ended up just making a larger hole(about 1cm) and emptying out all the foam things so they can still play with it and it actually still squeaks! That little hole is what allowed the foam to start falling out. The hole I cut to get the pile of foam out was much larger. I would definitely purchase another one maybe for outdoor use so if they puncture it, doesn't matter the mess since it's outside.

totally obsessed

Honestly, I don’t know whether to give this 5 stars or 1 star. The second this came out of the Chewy box, my dog grabbed it and played with it for an hour straight. She never spends that much time playing with a ball. She only stopped playing because I hid it when she wasn’t looking. Bad idea. She obsessively went through the house looking for it. So she got it back. Played more. I tried to hide it again. Searched again. Gave it back to her. Now two days later, we are up at 5:45 am so that she can play with it. She usually destroys toys, so I’m not sure how this softer ball isn’t in pieces yet. I don’t know what they put in it to make it take over a dog’s whole brain, but it’s effective, whatever it is. I’m losing sleep, but at least she’s having fun…

Just great if your dog is toothless

My Irish Jack Russell terrier is a better retriever than black labs and setters. I’ve owned in the past. His favorite past time is retrieving squeaky balls and dropping them in my feet. In my limited experience with small squeaky balls, I’ve yet to find one with a sturdy and long lasting squeaker. On a friend’s recommendation after having gone through several dozen spiky squeaky balls I bought at chewy, I purchased a dozen HARTZ Dura play squeaky balls in size small. My dog loves the soft texture and takes riotous joy until they stop squeaking, and they become useless to him. The rubber/latex material from which they’re made seems to resist puncture, but sadly, the squeakers don’t hold up two more than one or two fetch and retrieve sessions. I have two wishes: first, I wish the RND folks at HARTZ would build Dura play ball with a longer lasting squeaker, and second, I would welcome replies or input from other dog owners who may have discovered a longer lasting squeaky ball.

Good-bye tennis balls!

My dog carries a ball on walks which she squeaks to alleviate stress (city bases, skateboards, motorcycles, and sometimes other dogs). She was burning through Kong/Nerf/Generic-brand

My dog carries a ball on walks which she squeaks to alleviate stress (city bases, skateboards, motorcycles, and sometimes other dogs). She was burning through Kong/Nerf/Generic-brand balls at a rate of around 1 ball per 1.5 days (we walk 4-7 miles daily). We even tried the expensive Playology balls (she immediately destroyed the squeaker and thus, they became worthless). These balls last waaaaay longer than any other ball we've tried! We don't use them for general play, just for comfort on walks. Best investment in dog gear we've made. The ratio is about 20:1.
