Is soy concentrate protein new? And why was it added?

Answer by ChewyJul 27, 2018
The Soy Protein Concentrate was added to the new formula. It's high in protein and a great option for pets with food allergies,

What’s the size of the kibble?

Answer by ChewyMay 28, 2021
The size of this kibble is approximately 1/2 centimeter, but smaller than a dime. From from time to time there will be variances in the kibble shape and it may be a little bigger. One reason is Halo does not use meat meals, which is a powder. Instead Halo only uses whole protein which is high in moisture. Also, Halo recipes do not include any added emulsifiers, which are for consistency in the shape of the kibble.

Can you tell me the iodine content?

Answer by ChewyDec 09, 2024
The iodine content is 1.40 milligrams per kilogram on an as fed basis and 1.51 milligrams per kilogram on a dry matter basis.

What is the phosphorus content please? As fed and dry matter?

Answer by ChewyJul 27, 2022
The phosphorus content for this recipe is 0.45% as fed. Halo does not have the phosphorus content on a dry matter basis at this time.

I have a cat that refuses to chew his dry food. He also has a very sensitive stomach. I just ordered 2 giant bags of this food that I have been feeding to him for well over 5 years, and I opened it up and dumped it into the food bin, and these pieces of food are enormous. These things are the size of dog food. My cats stood there really excited for something new and started swallowing them whole immediately. I don't know what to feed him now, this is 100+ dollars worth of food and it's going to do nothing but make my cat vomit every time he swallows it. I chose this brand and this food because it was teeny tiny pieces and they were easy for his stomach most of the time. I am absolutely livid at this. This is completely unacceptable.

Meow! My name is Porter Cable and I am here to tell you about this yummy food I eat daily. You see, it is healthy food that tastes good! I know what you are thinking, "What! Say it ain't so." But really, it is that good! I have a beautiful coat, shiny, and hardly sheds (which makes my mommy happy), my stool isn't stinky (makes my daddy happy), and I have energy to play and stay in shape. My brothers and sisters ALL love it and when our 24-hour snack bar gets a daily delivery for a refill, we all come running because it tastes so good. Paws-down, I highly recommend. BTW, did you know the food has never been recalled. So important to me and my parents as they don't ever want me to get sick.

After the vet said a couple of my cats are a little overweight I needed a product that had less fat but tasty to indoor cats that are picky eaters. So I choose this product because of the ingredients and found that my cats loved the taste and also this product does not leave that oily residue that most cat food product leave in the dish. I'm really pleased that I don't have to waste any more cat food to find a product that my cats like.

My cat has been on the Halo Dry Cat food since it came out. He did very well on the original formula. I was so happy I finally found a dry food he liked. Recently the packaging changed along with the formula. They have added pork which is not good for cats. My biggest complaint is the kibble size. It's much smaller and my cat can't chew it so he swallows it whole which causes him to throw up. After several days of trying to feed him this new formula and the constant vomiting he will no longer go near it. I contacted Halo and they really didn't care. I provided them with the information and pictures they requested and their response was it meets their standards. Then they wanted a good review. This is so sad that this food is already very expensive and now they are cutting corners but not the price. I love my cat and he is considered a family member. My goal is to keep him healthy and happy. I've tried to find a similar ingredient dry food that was closer to the original Halo formula that has a larger size kibble but I'm not having any luck. I will never recommend this food to anyone. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review.

Recipe Change 4 paws down!

My 3 Ragdolls loved the grain-free chicken and chicken liver (not the indoor cat) in the white and orange bag. Now the formula has changed to take out the chicken

My 3 Ragdolls loved the grain-free chicken and chicken liver (not the indoor cat) in the white and orange bag. Now the formula has changed to take out the chicken liver and add pork. These are the purple and orange bags. Two will not eat it and the one who tried it got diarrhea and now won't touch it! CHANGE IT BACK PLEASE. It is SSOOOOO Difficult to get the cats to eat. why do these companies always have to change the recipies?? SO frustrating. I had stocked up 4 bags due to supply chain worries but got the purple bags Chewy was kind ot offer a refund but I have not received it yet.

Some unnecessary ingredients, overpriced

The cellulose in the Blue Buffalo Multi-Cat Health chicken & turkey didn't sit well with me, so I tried this. The $46 retail price tag for the 11.5-lb bag is unreasonable

The cellulose in the Blue Buffalo Multi-Cat Health chicken & turkey didn't sit well with me, so I tried this. The $46 retail price tag for the 11.5-lb bag is unreasonable since there are still questionable ingredients & it's not grain-free. There is pea protein, pea fiber, whole peas, oats, barley, flax seed, etc, all at the top of the ingredients list, some of them as binding agents, but advertised as a source of protein. Plants proteins are not easily digestible for cats. Cats are carnivorous, but this seems to be about as healthy as it gets for dry food, unless I want to pay $90 for a 15-lb bag of Orijen. Wet food unfortunately does not interest my cats. As long as my cats live a long & healthy life, I'll be grateful I paid 7 times more than the cheapest "cat food" & 50% more than the Blue Buff. My cats both like it & they transitioned very easily from the Blue Buff. Will buy again when I find a deal.

Compared to other brands, the ingredients of the Halo Indoor are far superior. I have nothing but praise for the food itself. My cat's coat is so soft with a beautiful sheen and his eyes are bright. I believe the high quality food has contributed greatly to my cat's overall health. However, I've watched the price go from an initial price which I already consider quite pricey, to a recent, mind-boggling new price 30% higher than what I paid originally. The price has really spiraled out of control particularly over the last year to year and a half. Sadly, I am now forced to look for a new brand as I simply can no longer afford the product. A 30% hike in just 4 to 5 yrs time is just way too much. And, I am sure I'm not the only one feeling this way. Too bad because it's a great cat food.

My cat didnt like it.

I adopted a cat in October and bought her this based on the recommendations, which usually weigh heavily with me along with the ingredients. Halo has good ingredients

I adopted a cat in October and bought her this based on the recommendations, which usually weigh heavily with me along with the ingredients. Halo has good ingredients so I cant fault them on that, but the cat reused to eat it which I found odd since you know in a shelter they don't eat premium food. I thought at first that was the issue, but my Bella loves Merrick (which I dont like due to Purina buy out) and Natural Balance. So I mixed the first bag I bought with a Merrick bag for some fosters I have and they all eat together. The foster kittens love her food. But I still have some left now (mixed in of course) and Is January with 3 cats.
