Just recently got a baby bunny and this was something I bought to try out since the other alfalfa hay bales on chewy had a few bad reviews. I keep a litterbox with layers of hay n sprinkle food for foraging with a different kind of hay that’s not pressed. I took a pressed layer of this hay for my bun to eat.. she now prefers this hay over the other! As I rarely catch her eating the other one. Wasn’t sure what to expect but the hay comes pressed and banded like a cute little bale of hay lol I kept it in the box n just grab out a piece when needed. It comes in a bag so it stays fresh longer which I appreciated! Needless to say my baby bun is pleased and so am I! Hope this helps someone else! :)

i used this alfalfa for one of my rescue guinea pigs while she was pregnant and nursing and while her babies were growing (they don't need it otherewise). they loved this hay and the babies started eating it within three hours of being born. the box also can double as a nice temporary tunnel. the hay was good quality over a few orders, nice and green and fresh smelling with almost no dust. they only reason i don't give four stars is because the plastic straps around the bale are very difficult with scissors or a standard razor knife.

I have never heard of this company, and when I 1st ordered the alfalfa hay, I had no expectations whatsoever. I was used to the Small Pet Select quality, and I figured

I have never heard of this company, and when I 1st ordered the alfalfa hay, I had no expectations whatsoever. I was used to the Small Pet Select quality, and I figured this is a smaller amount, and if it's not great, it won't be such a waste. Man, was i WRONG! The hay was green, looked harvested recently, compressed nice and tight, full of leaves not just stems, very little to no dust. I was completely blown away. I did not expect such an amazing quality! I have ordered at least 3 more boxes and will continue to do so because my bunnies absolutely love it. I only wish it came in a bigger box, with more than just 6lb. Please keep in mind that alfalfa hay is recommended for rabbits younger than 5-6 months, pregnant or nursing moms, sick, malnourished adults, or elderly rabbits. I would assume the same can be said about guinea pigs. For the regular healthy adult animals, timothy is better suited because it will not cause obesity!
