Oscar will FINALLY Swallow his Pills!

Thank goodness I found Greenies Pill Pockets! Our Dachshund, Oscar, was given several prescriptions by our vet. Knowing people food is not a good option for dogs (I had learned my lesson that cheese and ham with all their salt were causing his medical condition to worsen) I was desperate. It was suggested I try the capsule pockets which were wonderful, as I could fit 2 in at a time in and soften the pocket around them. Oscar especially loves the peanut butter flavor and I no longer find the expensive RX's hidden in his crate! I also read these will hold a small amount of liquid medication which is a terrific idea for those pets that are sensitive to having their mouth's held like Oscar - a rescue dog who most likely was abused. I'm attaching a picture of Oscar guarding his "treasure" from his siblings: sister Courtnie, another Dachshund and a 75 lb. Lab named Sky who were eyeing his loot while I was snapping the photo! I thought my dog would take her Pills so easy with this Peanut Pill pocket. We tried several times with the pills inside the Pill Pocket. There was no way she would take this Pill Pocket. It was very difficult to get those pills down her throat because she kept spitting the half chewed Pill Pocket and the Pills out of her mouth.. Unfortunately, I have to go back to using just plain Peanut Butter wrapped around her pills. I do have to place that on the roof of her mouth, but she will get all of the Peanut Butter and her pills down each day. Sorry, I must return these particular Pill Pockets.. I honestly feel that I still will recommend this product because they work so well for other pets, just not for my little OLD Annie (14 yrs.old) now. She has a mind of her own.

The BEST and most stress free way to give pets pills!!

I never write reviews; I mean NEVER! But after seeing how awesome these pill pockets work, I had to let other pet lovers know to look no further. My sweet Yorkie

I never write reviews; I mean NEVER! But after seeing how awesome these pill pockets work, I had to let other pet lovers know to look no further. My sweet Yorkie girl had teeth and extractions and has to take 2 weeks of antibiotics twice a day in capsule form. The thought stressed us both out. We tried Greenies and she gobbles it up with no problem! Now medicine time is fun! Try them!

Pill Pickets Really Work!

One of my dogs was diagnosed with Lupus. She has to take 3 different medications every day & they have a very bitter taste (yeah, I put my tongue to them- nasty!)

One of my dogs was diagnosed with Lupus. She has to take 3 different medications every day & they have a very bitter taste (yeah, I put my tongue to them- nasty!). I tried everything to sneak the pills in (even wrapping them in slices of beef), but she'd detect the pills every time & spit them out. Pill Pockets saved the day!!! They are soft so you can mold them around the pill so it doesn't fall out. And I found that if I slowly wave them in front of her nose before giving them to her that entices her even more. She hasn't spit out a single pill since I've tried the Pill Pockets. I haven't tried any other flavor other than peanut butter. So far, that's doing the trick. I highly recommend them! They DO work!

I've been using these for years. I love them. It's a total deceit for especially an intelligent dog. I would recommend them to anybody who has a dog who simply just will not take medicine. I have had dogs at Patel immediately if you put it in peanut butter and bread or try to hide it in their food. I just found them on the floor. Pill pockets are the perfect deceiving remedy to all that. They think they're getting a treat, you're taking care of their needs. Absolute perfection. Any pill fits in them. Some antibiotic pills are a little bigger, and they kind of mess perfectly if you need to then they just think they're getting a bigger treat. I don't know who came up with this idea but my hats off to you.

I have been buying from Chewy for a while now. Sadly I had one of our rescue babies pass away and my daughter moved out and took 2 rescues with her. I still have 6 at home. So for a couple of weeks I had to put Chewy on hold to adjust to the new feeding routine. Still don’t have it down pat yet but working on it. When I started back up with Chewy, there was no problem at all. Just picked right back up. I would recommend Chewy to anyone that has more than one fur baby. Over a certain amount the shipping is free. I buy Greenie pill pockets Sensitive skin and stomach food as well as True Chew treats. The best part is it comes right to your door. I have also bought puppy pads and water bowl filters. You can get anything from Chewy that you can buy in the store. I have a better picture of Chico on another device.

Brillant idea...

We started using these when our Mastiff got smart about his pills being hidden in melted cheese - somehow he could eat around the cheese and then stopped eating

We started using these when our Mastiff got smart about his pills being hidden in melted cheese - somehow he could eat around the cheese and then stopped eating cheese altogther. But these work 99% of the time. One accidental but big discovery; I decided to cut up the pockets into 3 pieces because these things are expensive and we have to give 6 pills a day. They are easily malleable and it turns out that with the smaller pieces, our dog doesn't have the need to chew - which is what causes him to spit it out when he bites into the pill. The hickory flavor is stinky; chicken is the easiest to cut and mold; peanut butter is dog's favorite.

The only time he wont take them is at boarding and thats because he knows they'll give him meatballs to take his pills. Can't blame him. Id choose the meatball too!
