Has anyone tried these with a bull dog that eats fast??? Do they actually chew on them? I saw someone said they were soft and not getting chewed by their dog to clean the teeth????

Answer by ChewyNov 13, 2018
These Large dental chews are suitable for large and giant breed dogs weighing 50-100 pounds. These are hard chews, however all dogs have their own strength so some might be harder chewers than others.

Aside from working as advertised, Greenies have become a special treat for "King" my GSD. Every weekday about mid-way thru Jeopardy, he anxiously waits for that moment when I get his treat - I'm amazed to see him devote it in 30 seconds. But, as with all types of products, Greenies are used in addition to brushing his teeth...which have kept his teeth near tarter free. I have noticed that there are 2 small spots on his eye-teeth, close to the gum line, that needed special attention ... so that's the reason for the brushing.

My GSD is OBSESSED with Greenies. Not only does he love them but his teeth look cleaner! Hes 2.5 YO and 90# has been eating them for maybe 10 days. I never brush his teeth but he get's them done at the groomer maybe every 6 mo. Highly recommend Greenies even though they are expensive. He gets so excited he can't even do his tricks! It's the funniest thing ever. Product performance and the best tricks for treats laughs every day.

We’ve raised our white GSD in primarily raw and fresh food but while moving across country, we switched to kibble for easiness and I was running out of time to do meal prep. As a result his teeth were getting a lot of tartar in them and while we switched back to a hybrid of raw/fresh & kibble we couldn’t get rid of the tartar very fast. My friend recommended Greenies so we tried them and you could tell a big difference in the first few days. We still need to get Larry back to 100% raw/fresh but going to keep Greenies on hand too

These are expensive, but once a day we give Ozzie one of these and it makes his day. They must taste delicious and we know they are great for his teeth because our vet raves about how good his teeth are. Ozzie’s worth it.

Mr Wilson (aka Willie) loves these, but I have to admit the price is ridiculous. He’d love one every night but I usually give him 2 a week. We’re retired and have Willie (a rescue), 2 cat rescues and a horse. Between their food, meds and treats it’s very expensive.

I have been ordering these treats for quite a while and have had no issue until now. The last delivery had 4 partial/ half treats. The other halves were not included so it wasn't that they simply broke. the 2nd bag in the box was fine.

We have three dogs, ages 12,4, and 7months. All three take a Greenie a day. Not only has it kept our puppies teeth looking fantastic but our four year old's teeth are in excellent shape. The biggest difference is in our 12 year old's teeth, which is looking years younger and removing the Tartar. She is also a cancer survivor for the past three years. The Greenies have been her favorite treat. All of the dogs love them and it keeps their breath fresh. Absolutely Love the product and well worth the money.

Alough I love the fish stick treats (cod fish skins) for my dog, they do smell like fish :/ These don't leave a smell, and are easy for Pepper to chew up, and hopefully give him better breath :) We call these his "toothbrush treats" - if I say that out loud, he gets happy and waits by the counter.

I refuse to brush my dog's teeth

Call me old school, but I just can't bring myself to brush my dog's teeth. When I acquired my rescue greyhound, the importance of dental care was really stressed by the rescue. My vet recommended Greenies by name and told me that it was one of the few doggie dental products that has been scientifically proven to work. That works for me... so both of my pups get one every day. TIP: My German Shepherd needs to take a daily pill. I dip the greenie in peanut butter, stick the pill on and let him eat the pill off the greenie. Works like a charm and my guy is beside himself with excitement at pill time.

About 2 or 3 PM on these warm sleepy afternoons, I whisper into my 11 year old Golden's (Dr. Zack) ear, "go in the bed room", he starts to wake, looks at me, I repeat "go in the bed room". He stirs alive, stretches, trots off, Zack cann't see me now, but he knows I'm getting a Greenie out of the cupboard and I'm going to hide it, if he wants it, he has to find it, and he always wants it now. This is fun, good for his teeth, his tummy, and his brain. I take a greenie, rub it's smell around the house, in different places, sometimes I make it hard to find, sometimes easy, Now, stand back, here comes a hundred pounds of crazy dog, "come on Zack, find your Greenie" I call. Zack loves these things, romps through the house, 100 miles an hour, snoot to the trail, tail wagin', till he finds it. most of his afternoon exercise is all done in about 3 minutes. Zack and I are a certified working therapy dog team, before we head off on a hospital visit, (before C-19 that is) I brush my teeth, get some mouth wash, Zack gets a "Greenie", makes us more likable. Our Vet says his choppers are nice and really clean, "no need for an expensive dental cleaning right now". Only thing you must be careful of is that several brands of rat poison are the same color green and look a little like a greenie, be careful around other peoples places, ask if they have any poison out For safety, please teach your best buddy the command of "drop it," so ya can see just what he's eating" Greenies, in a word are great, a great treat that's good and good for ya, well, good for your dog......
