If you can, boil your driftwood for at least an hour and let it cool. If your driftwood is too large to boil, submerge it in a bucket with a 5% Bleach solution for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse very well and let it soak in bleach-free water for at least a day to be sure that any remnants of the bleach have dissipated.

The Driftwood normally takes around 1 to 2 weeks to absorb enough water to weigh itself down. You can use other decor or bury the wood in the substrate to help hold it down for the meantime. It is recommend rinsing off and cleaning the wood before putting it in the tank so that any dust or foreign material is removed. We also recommend soaking it to remove natural tannins in the wood. The tannins do not harm anything but they will dye the water a tea color.

I ordered 2 medium and 2 medium/large. The size description for the medium is 13 x 8 x 8inches and for the medium/large 16 x 12 x 12inches. As you can see from the

I ordered 2 medium and 2 medium/large. The size description for the medium is 13 x 8 x 8inches and for the medium/large 16 x 12 x 12inches. As you can see from the picture that there is no obvious difference in the sizes. The longest one is 13.5 inches. They are completely flat (not even an inch thick) and the widest one is barely 4 inches across. Unless you want a useless slab of light, flimsy wood, I would suggest going with something like mopani which is beautiful and economical. Or go to your local aquarium store and look at driftwood. You'll pay a lot more, but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I guess it's on me for not reading the reviews, but im severely disappointed. i ordered the medium and was excited for a piece that looked like the picture (not crazy to expect something to look like what you bought...) for my leopard gecko enclosure. Got the package today, and lo and behold its a flat piece of driftwood that looks nothing like what was pictured or advertised. If this was a one time thing, I would maybe give the brand another chance, however seeing that so many other people had the same problem and were even sent WORSE ones as a replacement, I will not be buying from this brand again.

I purchased the Galapagos Sinkable Driftwood twice. The first time I ordered the medium size based on their dimensions on the Chewy website. The tiny sliver of wood that I received was smaller than advertised and is basically not at all what I expected. I then tried again and ordered a larger size. It came in two pieces and is a thin sliver of wood much smaller than expected and it cost $28! It came in a huge box that also had a heavy bag of aquarium substrate in it. The only packing material to separate the two items was some sheets of brown paper so of course the heavy bag of gravel had plenty of room to shift and broke the wood. I’m done.

Dirty Tank Water

Do not recommend this product. I originally purchased for my beardie tank but it came as a flat piece of wood. So i rinsed the wood off and placed in my betta tank

Do not recommend this product. I originally purchased for my beardie tank but it came as a flat piece of wood. So i rinsed the wood off and placed in my betta tank (tag says okay for aquatic purposes). I completely changed my tank water and then placed the wood in. Literally overnight my betta’s tank went from clear to tea colored brown. My tann filter clogged. I did another water change and again over night, rinsed the log again and replaced with a new filter water was brown within 12 hrs. Water is still brown and I’ve gone through 3 filters in two days. Do not recommend.

Received that today and it was worse just a smaller piece of wood. Like a broke piece off a log. Do not recommend don't not waste your money on any of these. Size will not matter. Giving 1 star since it will not give none. Buyer beware.
