Frisco Tie Out Cable, Green, 30-ft

bought a 20 and a 30 ft. tie out for different places in front yard for my dog to hang out safely while we garden instead of leaving her inside. the tie out is much more flexible than an old steel cable one we had, so it's more comfortable for her to move around and it lies very flat on ground so it's not a tripping hazard for me! surprisingly the lime green color shows up very easily in the grass too, so I won't run mower over it !!!!

I only use tie out cables occasionally, so my dogs and roam outside with me without concern of them running into the street (no fence). I store the tie out indoors so the elements don't destroy it. It's been holding up very well with no signs of rust or damage. This morning, I had my 35 lb dog on the tie out and she went for a squirrel. The tie out snapped along the cable! How does a 35 lb dog break a 50 lb cable? I'm pretty disappointed. It's a good thing my dogs knows recall, or I would have been chasing her who knows how long. Since the weight ratings can't be trusted, I'll need to buy a bulkier one to replace it.

My dog is around 100 pounds and today when he was running he snapped the clip. It did well until today.

My Bucky appreciates the lightweighted-ness of this tie out lead. No doubt he'd really prefer to run around loose, but for those tomes when an overly-enthusiastic, young, 100 lb doggo needs to be contained so he doesn't terrify the whole campground with his exuberance and penchant for expressing himself in a serious of grumbles and growling noises which sound scary and threatening if you don't know that he is, in fact, just a big ol' puppy that likes to chitter-chatter a lot.
