This review is for the Frisco Coastal Fish Springy Teaser Wand Cat Toy with Silvervine & Catnip. Our tester is Spare, a 3 year old DSH tabico. She’s a former stray, has no health issues, and she’s actually afraid of many cat toys. But she luuurves catnip, and pouncing on strings and cords dragged along the floor. (Hi, I’m Spare. That’s me, checking out the fishy toy). This fish is pretty cute, and seems fairly sturdy. The tether between the wand and toy is a thick double layer of fabric, and the curling spring sewn inside is fantastically bouncy. No noticeable catnip smell (to me), and maybe not to Spare either, because she wasn’t really drawn to it at all. First introduction: she followed the fish toy down the hallway for a few feet… then ran away. New toy, scary. Cats are weird. After a few more days of just letting the toy sit near her, she finally responded with some tentative pouncing when I wiggled it past her. I think she will eventually play with the fish toy, once she gets used to it. My only concerns: seems a bit large for a cat toy, something smaller might be more attractive to cats. And the tether is attached to the fish by only a single thin seam, which, with vigorous play, might tear out.

Good Toy

While the string is shorter then I thought it would be it does its purpose, the spring to it i think adds more movement to play and catches their attention longer

The fish is a decent size and I like the colors, it's soft but seems durable enough. But i noticed at the ends of the wand some strange stretchy glue coming out from under the caps?(I'm not sure what to call them) they don't appear to be on to well and the top capsule does feel loose and there's a sizeable gap(big enough for a claw to get stuck) on the top end as well. However both cats love it, I have an older boy who's not all to interested in play as much as he used to be but with this? He was jumping around batting it, it definitely got him going again! His sister enjoys it too although a bit more subtle on her play

They had fun playing with it after I sprayed extra catnip on it. The fish was a little scary to them at first (kind of large). The plastic wand did bend and crimp with the first play. Needs to be sturdier.

I like that the string is thicker, so hopefully it won’t break as soon as some other wand toys. I’ll be curious if the fish becomes a kickeroo as it is large enough to be a toy on its own.

It's been hard to find something that will pique the interest of my 18 year old boy. He has lost interest in all his old toys, so I thought something new might be the ticket. I was right. Despite his arthritis, he did some chasing and catching with this new toy, and he especially loved chewing on the curly part. I am giving it 4 stars only because I wonder at the longevity of this toy; the material doesn't seem very sturdy (there is already a tear in the "string" despite light usage).
