Have you all considered making these any bigger, where do you sell them in a larger size? The only downside to this product is that it gets stuck under things frequently!

Answer by PatcatmomDec 16, 2025
When my kitten gets these stuck under things, that’s how I get my exercise. This kitten has taught me how to get better at getting down on the floor and getting back up from the floor. And we both have Funtime with these springs.

Is there a secret to getting them untwined when opening the package without ruining them???

Answer by WinkMar 10, 2026
OMGosh! I thought the same thing! And then I got out of my own way LOL! Piper, Phoebe, Paige and Prue (yep you ARE seeing a pattern LOL!) wanted nothing to do with them over the years…and then I got Cole (a rambunctious orange tabby cat) 🐈 who showed me how! They aren’t intertwined like a bad slinky- the fit into one another like a puzzle. So before you try and untangle them- just grab one of the curves in the middle and pull straight out. Do not twist or spin- just pull them apart from the middle and it’s easy peasy. That’s what works for me! I was fighting with them one day out of the package and Cole knocked two of them intertwined from my hand and when they hit the floor- he bit the middle, shook his head once or twice and boom! They were separated! And yes, since he’s an Orange boy, he does act like he’s half demon sometimes just like his namesake LOL! But he’s not yet a year old so I’m crossing my fingers that he will mellow with age! I hope this helps!

Can you post a certificate of analysis showing what plastic these are made of, e.g. polypropylene, polystyrene, HDPE, etc., and that they are free of heavy metals, phthalates, and other contaminants?

Answer by ChewyJan 19, 2021
Frisco Colorful Springs Cat Toy is made of PVC and has been tested to meet ASTM F963-17 heavy metal and phthalates requirements.

are these springy or solid plastic

Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2021
These toys are springy and bouncy. They are made of PVC (plastic).

We rescued an 8-year-old cat about a year ago. He was living outdoors and decided our doorstep was home. After building some trust we brought him inside but he's a bit more aloof than regular cats. He is a super interesting little dude - though he's not little and weighs about 18 lbs. as he's just a large-framed cat. All that being said, we've had a heck of a time finding toys he might like but because he was neglected for so long, toys haven't really interested him...until these springs! He goes bonzo over these. I was so happy to see him happy. The springs doe come wound together as you can see in the photo. I haven't tried to unravel them. He seems to like it just as it is! I took a photo of the springs so you could get an idea of size next to a 3.3 oz. can of cat food. A couple of reviews mentioned a dangerous size and one kitty almost choked? I don't see how that's possible. Our cat is huge and this would never fit in his mouth. I would be very cautious, though, if you also have a dog - I would be worried about a dog getting this in their mouth for sure in terms of a choking hazard. I see that Chewy has a few versions of this toy on their site so it could be that those mentioning the very small size and their cat almost choking (which is definitely a terrible thing) purchased a different version of this. One person didn't like that it doesn't 'spring' if she holds it down and releases. It's not that kind of spring :) I think it would probably work best on wood or tile floors as the joy for our cat is flinging it around and then pouncing on it or our tossing it across the floor and he chases it, but our wood floors help keep him interested as it slides across the floor. Cats are notorious for having a mind of their own, but at least in our case, our cat loves this toy.

I bought this initially for both of my cats, but one has taken a particular liking to them and the other doesn’t care! Vincent is obsessed with the green springs specifically, but blue is a close second. He will carry it around proudly, and loves using these to play fetch - especially when they bounce in random directions! It is now a nightly routine (and I will get screamed at if I forget) to retrieve any from under my dresser before I go to sleep so he can have them to play with overnight. I would love if these could be sold by color so I can get him a whole bunch of his favorites!!

I’m in my 70s and I’ve had cats all my life. I’ve had cat toys around all my life. The existing group of cats that I have in the house at the moment own every cat toy known man, in my opinion. They’ll play a little bit, with them but they preferrd cardboard boxes and paper towel rolls, and things like that over those expensive toys. I broke down and on a whim, I decided to buy the springs. Oh my goodness! They play with them night and day! Throw them around in the air, they played tug-of-war with them, they adore them! I’ll never buy anything else for any cat to play with but those silly little inexpensive springs!

Words cannot describe the joyus frenzy of the cryptic being that lives in my home when she sees a spring. She begins vibrating madly and screams the sacrament of the black abyss in jubilation. The biggest issue we have, is the rotten slobbery meat skulls of the other beings in the household enjoy stealing the objects of whimsy. Much to The Nemesis' dismay. 10/10 The Nemesis does not allow herself to be photographed in such a joyus state, pictured is one of the meat brained thieves with his ill-gotten prize. As well as a picture of the Glorious One, unfortunately with no spring.

My Logan has loved these spring toys since he was a baby. And I love them because they're very sturdy, don't hurt my feet when I step on them (nor do they break), Logan can easily carry them around and hide them which he enjoys, and they are quite inexpensive so when all are lost I'm not shelling out lots of money (although I would)! What's not to love? So, we both highly recommend trying some for yourselves.

Kitty LOVES these and they last forever

My cat (7 months old) is very playful but not very interested in catnip, so it’s hard to find toys that keep his attention; he’ll get excited about something new and then forget about it. Not so with these springs. He’s had them for about a month now and he keeps playing with them, often unearthing them on his own when I think they’re lost. He loves to bat it around and chase it, stalk it and pounce on it, and carry it around in his mouth and put it somewhere new. They’re small and can get stuck under a few furniture items but the fact that they come in packs of ten allows one pack to last a long time. I’ve gotten him more since the first pack but only just opened up the second one.

The cats at the shelter that I volunteer at LOVE these toys. And so, when we adopted our rescue cat, I made sure to stock up on some. Within a day, they are scattered all throughout the house because he has so much fun batting them around. He even takes a few into the tub and to play with (no water added LOL). We have tested out a lot of other cat toys because he is a busy boy who is easily bored indoors. The springs are a simple toy that he plays with daily. We even wake up to several on the bed each morning, as he likes carrying them around the house with him.

I love these for my cat! They are his favorite toy! He loves to bat them around as they are lightweight and easy to bat around and chase after. He taught himself as a young kitten to pick one of them up and bring it back to me so that I can throw it for him. He loves to play fetch using them with me, and does so most every day. The only downside to these toys are that they get stuck under furniture or other items at times and so I have to buy several packages so that he has ones to play with, until we find some that have been inadvertently “hidden”. They are fairly cheap, which makes buying extra of them a no brainer. I have bought other toys that are much more expensive, that he barely plays with and I can truthfully say that he plays with these daily. Another way he uses them is to put them in his mouth and then put them in his house, tunnel, or just a cardboard box and play with them in the contained space of it. It is an inexpensive toy that he can play with alone or with me, and is content either way!

This toy completely engages the cat into moving it, tossing it, pursuing it. No other toy comes close. BUT, I will not be using it again--unless I can figure out a way to prevent my perfect cat from sending this toy flying under my treadmill, heater, sofa, refrigerator, and every other piece of furniture that this toy gets flown to. I cannot keep getting down on my knees to extract these toys with multiple tools from deep underneath a piece of furniture. When I have tried to block this by putting a box next to the furniture, my brilliant cat pushes the box away and continues to send this toy to the farthest possible unreachable place. So, not for me to use again unless I can figure out a way for him to enjoy it without bringing me to my knees.
