Frisco Hourglass Interactive Puzzle Dog Toy, Level 6

Wasn't sure if this would be a good idea, because I got it for our adopted rescue GSD who spent most of her 1 year in a rescue shelter. And when we brought her home to have 2 siblings, well, she was a food stealer. She would steal our 2 dog's treats, as she left her treat alone. Taste better when they're stolen. I was afraid this would make it worse. But we've had her 6 months now, so wanted to try it. I googled how to train pup with it. She would eat the treats as I helped her, but she wouldn't try to find them herself. So, when she laid in the hallway, I put the box by her and left. She didn't think I could see her. As I said, tastes better if treats are stolen. As long as she thought I didn't see, she went after the treats As soon as she knew I saw her, she won't touch the puzzle. So, I give 5 stars because it did get Cora interested, and she worked to get the treats. She has never worked a treat puzzle before. She is a special adopted rescue that just needs love and patience. I do recommend it in training your dog.

5 stars for quality of enrichment and durability. Once my pup figured it out, he tried to lift the tiles and they held against his pulling. I gave it 4 stars overall because it's not easy to clean the top portion with the tiles. You can remove the tray underneath, but I wish I could quickly take the top section apart to clean and reassemble (maybe one or two screws?). I do love this and will recommend and gift to anyone with a smarty pants pup. My guy goes through puzzles and sniffing games in no time, and gives me his smug look of satisfaction after either solving it or simply taking it apart. He did lose interest after the first and second tries as he’s not super food motivated. I added some of the water that comes with feta cheese and it did the trick - he worked it over multiple times and keeps going back to see if he missed anything, so make sure the reward is meaningful.
