Questions & Answers

2 Customer Questions

where is this made?

Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2023
This toy is made in China and designed and tested to meet our high-quality standards.

How much food does this hold?

Answer by ChewySep 17, 2025
Each hole or pocket measures approximately 1 inch wide by 0.5 inches deep. Since kibbles vary in size, each pocket likely holds a few pieces of kibble. These puzzles are not intended to be used as meal feeders.

My lab loves puzzles, but if she can’t figure out the right way immediately, she starts flipping the tray around. (She gets that from me.). Interestingly enough she did better with the watermelon on than this one ( and I thought greens were in a dog’s visual spectrum. Anyway, she likes both colors and looks proud of herself when she’s finished. I do have a level 4 puzzle which is in pretty rough shape but still useable, I’m holding off on starting a new one I just got for awhile until I can be more sure of her not giving up on it and trying to eat it. ( she’s a lab.)

My miniature 8 month old doodle is very smart and the first time I gave this level 2 feeder to him he cleaned out an entire meal’s worth of kibble in around than 5 minutes. So much for challenge, but it did slow him down from wolfing his food. It is very tedious to fill this feeder puzzle with a meal’s worth of kibble so that the sliders slide, etc. and in the future I will use it for tiny treats, one in each compartment, rather than for a meal. That will entertain him for a few minutes and he does like changes in pace of his daily routine. For dispensing meals I have found multilevel puzzles that incorporate a central container large enough to hold well over 1 cup of kibble so I can fill this container and it, as part of the challenge to the pup dispenses its contents to different little parts of the puzzle.

Not made right.

The center sliders are too large and don’t allow the up sliders to enter. So this allows only a half of an opening to access treats.

Excellent for clever dogs!

We have two - this one and a level 1. Our Bichonpoo mastered the level 1 the first time and was already up for the level 2. The level 2 was a bit more challenging

We have two - this one and a level 1. Our Bichonpoo mastered the level 1 the first time and was already up for the level 2. The level 2 was a bit more challenging and took him a little longer. It continues to challenge him even though he can solve it to completion each day. He loves it and it definitely adds some mental stimulation and brain exercise to his day (in addition to lots of time outside and getting exercise). I’ll likely get him and our goldendoodle more puzzles for Christmas.

Meh

I've been looking for puzzle toys for my reasonably smart dog and thought I would give this one a try. I want to love it, but it's a frustrating puzzle for both my girl and me. I like the orange flip top compartments, and my girl thinks those are awesome. The sliding pieces... not so great. In particular, the round sliders in between the fliptop compartments are just too fiddley. They do not slide fully toward the center, and it makes it pretty much impossible for my dog to get the treat out of the outermost hole. She gets frustrated and quits. The inner holes, under the larger green pieces in the center open up more fully, and she can manage those with a little help. She hasn't quite figured out how to get at those compartments very well and generally resorts to slamming the whole thing about with her feet. So just a little too hard for her at the moment. She needs help with it. But the way the round sliders don't fully open the outer compartment is a fail. It causes her to lose interest altogether. She has a fairly good size snout. She's an American Staffordshire Terrier. A smaller dog with a tiny little pointy nose that can fit in a half-open hole might do alright. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this one. Not super impressed.

Orla loves this!

Orla was quick to figure out how to get some of the treats, while others took her a bit longer. She loves when she sees me bring this out for her to play with. The only downside is that it doesn't take her long to find everything and then she wants it refilled so she can do it again. I will need to find something more challenging for her!

My dog figured this one out very quickly. Unfortunately, the treat holder cups are very small and can only fit small treats or a couple of pieces of kibble (see picture). The green slider pieces don’t fully slide open into the round dial, making it difficult to get the treats out all the way.

A good intermediate puzzle toy

I actually use this for my rambunctious teenage kitty. He needs mental stimulation to actually engage in self-entertainment. This puzzle is a good second level toy

I actually use this for my rambunctious teenage kitty. He needs mental stimulation to actually engage in self-entertainment. This puzzle is a good second level toy. The biggest problem I have with it, is the round peg doesn't fit in the middle slit. So it's almost impossible to get the treats out of the outside (of what looks like an easy portion) of the puzzle. Even I have some trouble squashing it in to get the treats out. So that part of the puzzle isn't well made. But my kitty loves all the other chambers.
