Freshpet Vital Chicken, Beef, Salmon & Egg Recipe Grain-Free Fresh Dog Food, 5.5-lb bag

Purchased this food for my two dogs and had to stop feeding them after two servings as both got very sick. Switched back and they got better. Chewy contacted me after submitting a review and refunded the purchase price. Additionally, they requested the remaining food and or lot number information from the package for tracking down any potential problems. Chewy really seems to care about customers pets.

I love this food! My Mom keeps it cold so she microwaves it for 30 seconds which makes it smell soooo good! I know she would love to get the 3lb bags that they make because I eat alot! I am a big 120 lb dog. My mom loves Chewy because she gets it delivered to our house. She also buys me cool treats and toys when she shops because she loves me so much (and Chewy too)!

I been looking for healthy dog food that is not kibble. I would love to make my own dog food, but just can't get organized enough and access to everything I need. A friend that rehabilitates dogs suggested this brand. I love it for a couple reasons. It definitely has brought my dog to a healthy weight (vet kept telling me to feed my dog less...how much less you want me to feed that poor animal that was non stop begging for food at that point? and still not loosing weight!) , he loves the food. I couldn't really transition him much because he got ill from something he ate (assume the kibble that was 80 dollars a bag) and i was making him some food and feeding him chicken and such to get him to eat until I could figure out what to do. He went straight into this food brand (different flavor, and I been mixing ingredients a flavors). He transitioned without problems. He is on allergy meds, had stomach issues and skin issues. I'm convinced that the vets scale is broke since while under his care when he wasn't eating for 2 weeks, he really didn't loose any weight and that just can't be. Vet sold me specialty diet, had to take it back because he refused to eat regardless what I tried , and i always had dogs and know all the tricks. He is now at "visual" healthy weight (can see indentation of his ribs and feel them- in a healthy way), he loves the food, he doesn't constantly beg for more food. His mobility issues are definitely improved. He still has some skin issues, he stopped constantly eating grass. He is a senior dog, so I still give him skin supplement and joint supplement. I probably will drop the others, except for the skin, soon, but he came from not eating dog food for 3 weeks (!) and only eating chicken (basically) to gobbling this food up and looking super healthy again. Until I can find a working scale, I would say he has been maintaing his healthy weight and is looking good in his senior years (it can take a couple weeks to see benefit of better food). A plus for me, I prefer to order from chewy and its my normal way to feed my pets. But its nice that I can run locally to get a bag if I forget to order.
