With a house of multiple cats, a good quality litter is obviously important. Over the years I have learned that just because it is expensive, doesn't mean it will work. However, I was a scoopable litter that actually smells good. That's what I love about the Fresh Step Extreme Odor Control. I used it as I would any other litter. It has a fresh fragrance to it rather than having a typical cat litter scent. Also, the texture is basically the same as most other litters so add it to the box and getting the cats to try it out wasn't a challenge for us. Having 11 cats, I would tell quickly just how well it would work. After a day of using it (which is a lot of use with 11 cats) I can tell that this is a pretty good litter as far as odor control goes. The cats seem to approve and my house smells a bit fresher longer. I think it's pretty safe to say, this was a good litter option to try for our house and we actually plan on using it again in the future. Since we have multiples, we actually like using a few different litters to make sure there is "something for everyone" so to speak. What can I say?! My cats are spoiled. Bottom line, yes, this is highly recommended!

I have always had a lots of cats all of my life and I know cat litter. I have 4 indoor cats and trust me, you can't tell I have cats unless you see them. The photo is one of my very happy cats.

I was on the hunt for a better cat litter so I did an experiment. I used four different brands: Skoon, World’s Best, Frisco, and Fresh Start Hawaiian, then judged

I was on the hunt for a better cat litter so I did an experiment. I used four different brands: Skoon, World’s Best, Frisco, and Fresh Start Hawaiian, then judged them based on clumpability, odor control, dust output, and tracking. The results: Second place went to Frisco, with excellent clumping, but inadequate odor control. Third place went to World’s Best with low dust output, but poor everything else. Skoon came in dead last, because, WHAT IS THAT STUFF, but a gigantic version of the old clay litter we used to pile on our driveways as an oil absorbent? I was so disappointed with Skoon that even giving it a last place rating is too generous, in my opinion. First place, and best by a large margin was Fresh Start Hawaiian, superior in all categories, hands-down. For me, having a 19-year-old male kitty with typical urinary issues, odor control was first priority. Fresh Start Hawaiian performed so well, I wanted to stop the experiment without trying the last brand. I’ll be using this litter exclusively until science finds a way to make cat business disappear altogether.

IT SMELLS SO GOOD

Cat litter isn't supposed to smell this wonderful but it does. the Hawaiian Aloha scent is absolutely amazing and if you're a Febreze fan, you already know this

Cat litter isn't supposed to smell this wonderful but it does. the Hawaiian Aloha scent is absolutely amazing and if you're a Febreze fan, you already know this. It sticks around for a long time. It's pretty strong, fair warning. Clumps well like all of Fresh Step's litter. Not particularly dusty but it can happen with some packages. This litter smells so great that my local grocery stores can't keep it in stock and if they have it, you cannot order it online for delivery.

My two cats don't seem to mind what I put in their box, as long as there's sand in there. So it's pleasing my nose and ease of cleaning that I look for. I was a bit leery about this scent but once it was in the box it's fine. It's nowhere as strong as I was expecting. There's a faint citrus scent but that's all. And I haven't noticed the smell of an uncovered mess since using it. If someone doesn't cover up, I have to get that out of there right away. I haven't had to do a late night scoop yet. I used to use Slide, but Fresh Step is a softer sand and if I was the one squatting barefoot in it I'd like the softer stuff under foot. If you have indoor cats, you have litter on the floor, it's just a fact of life, but this stuff doesn't seem to scatter as much as others I've used. Not even with my champion litter kicker Morgan. It clumps as well as the other Fresh Step so I'll probably go back and forth between this and the Fabreeze scent. They are both fine with my nose and sinuses.

Long lasting odor control

First thing I look for in a litter is whether or not my spoiled cat will use it (she is particular). This she uses without hesitation. Second is whether it controls odor and this surpasses my expectation. My friends say they cannot even tell I have a cat as there is zero odor. I clean her litter box once a day and this clumping litter makes that chore a simple one. Third, I care about cost and this is a reasonable cost for meeting all my requirements. I will continue to use.

I had previously been using Yesterday's News Original Formula Cat Litter before giving this Fresh Step Extreme Hawaiian Aloha a shot. This litter smells fresh and sweet, and did an incredible job at masking all of the odors. It also clumps extremely well so pretty much none of it is wasted. That being said, if you have a sassy cat like mine who loves to make a theatric event out of using the litter box and is a "slinger", this unfortunately won't work for you. Even with a deep litter box and one of those litter-catching mats, Lovebug managed to sling a ton of litter and some of the clumps out and it went absolutely e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. I had to go back to the large recycled newspaper litter to avoid the mass chaos and destruction he was causing with this tiny Fresh Step granulated litter. Unfortunately Yesterday's News does not mask any odors but it's much easier to clean in my particular circumstance. I'm still giving this product 5 stars because it does exactly as advertised - I just happen to have a cat that needs a heavier litter to keep the messes at bay.

Fresh Step Hawaiian Aloha Febreze is the best cat litter I've tried. I've tried most of the scents for Fresh Step and this one hides the smell the best and clumps very well. I've used other brands and actually did a survey for an expensive cat litter company that sent me 2 different bags of their cat litter and it was no where near as good at twice the price ! I usually get 2 boxes at a time since my local grocery store sells out of this sent the most and I don't buy the other scents anymore unless I absolutely have to. I won't buy any other brand either. Tried many of the popular brands.
