Fluker's Medium Live Mealworms Reptile Food, 1000 count

I was weirded out that the chewy box didn't have any air vents like my usual shipments. I opened the box and was excited that they shipped the insects in a container instead of dumping them in the box. But when I looked inside of the container I saw many dead worms. I never had a problem and understand some die but there were many dead worms in this shipment.

I've had leopard geckos for years. I'm familiar with the way mealworms and crickets are usually shipped. These mealworms were packaged as if they were crickets, with egg cartons and paper everywhere, and there was no food or place for them to burrow. I've spent hours with tweezers getting all the mealworms so that I can put them in a container of a reasonable size so that I can put them in my insect cooler. And so I can feed them some oats.

Flucker's is not part of the chewy standard 1-3 day shipping. Fluckers took days to process order and meal worms arrived 7 days after ordered. They arrived the day before we were leaving out of state and arrived dead and black. Not a single one lived. We reported it to chewy and they offered to refund or replace. Asked to have it replaced and ship expedited because our turtle had no food. Fluckers Farm was even slower processing the replacement meal worms and the mealworms arrived after we returned from a 8 day trip. Poor turtle was so hungry, he ate his goldfish friends who had been sharing his tank for 2 years. [Mealworms arrived 50% alive second time around]. We have switched to another company who is slightly quicker amd delivers fresh, alive Mealworms even in almost 100 degree heat.

Everytime we receive these there are ants all in it. Doesn't matter how long its on the porch or if its handed directly to me. It kills not only my worms but now I cant use them because I have to spend hours sifting the ants out!
