Are they safe to feed to jumping spiders

Answer by NicMFeb 24, 2026
Depending on the size of the jumping spider, possibly. The small would probably be your safest bet to not stress out the spider, but they are harmless and perfectly safe to feed otherwise.

Is this good for chickens?

There are so many mixed reviews. So here’s my experience. These larva or tiny, I’d say average 3 to 4 mm. That is considered small, larva, not medium. There are so tiny my bearded dragon doesn’t even acknowledge them. I believe roughly 6 to 10 mm is considered medium. I didn’t count, but the container was thriving when I received it. At this point approximately 2.5 weeks later, all of them are black, in the pre-pupae stage. Because they’re not moving my bearded dragon again doesn’t acknowledge them.. I do believe the company misrepresented the size for which I paid for. Otherwise the packaging was fine. They arrived alive for the most part. I will probably use another provider going forward. You could say this was just an accident or this is poor business practice, I just don’t have the time for it.

Looking for food

This is the best feeder I found for my jumping spider. It comes while they are in the first stage of maggots then turn into a bigger maggot then turns into flies

Our bearded dragon eats bsfl as a staple in his diet. This was our first time buying this brand. Unfortunately most were dried pupae when we received them and he prefers live larvae. Of course it is winter in New England so I’m not sure if the cold temperatures sped up the process. Buying live bugs online is tough but we have had pretty good luck with chewy brands. And he will eat them once flies so I’m waiting.

My leopard geckos love these!

One of my geckos had a vitamin a deficiency. Luckily I caught it early. Since then I have been looking for more nutritious options to provide variety to their diet

All of them were dead but Chewy quickly refunded the money. It's a really cold day but I haven't had this trouble when ordering online from other places. The problem may be that Chewy uses FedEx whereas the other places have used USPS and they hold the insects at the post office on cold days.

They're shipped quickly especially on the auto ship

Our bearded dragon enjoys these the most, as do I compared to other proteins they eat.

I got what I ordered

I'm not surprised that I was sent the things that I ordered. I guess this is rare, though. Chewy doesn't know if I got what I ordered & needs this review to be sure
