Do I add a small amount of water to the bowl for dehydrated food or insects?

Answer by ChewySep 09, 2018
These freeze-dried treats do not require rehydration to be fed to your pet turtle.

Are there any preservatives or any other bad things in it?

Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2018
Because freeze drying removes most of the moisture in each snack, there is no need to add in additives to preserve the food for long periods of time. This food contains all natural, freeze-dried ingredients.

Should this be refrigerated after being opened?

Answer by ChewyJun 06, 2018
Fluker's 5 Star Medley Freeze-Dried Aquatic Turtle Treats do not need to be refrigerated after opening.

Are the crickets “gut-loaded”?

Answer by ChewySep 20, 2022

My turtle will Never eat crickets. She hates them but no fault of this food. She eats the rest of it but she prefers the pellets of flukers buffet blend and her favorite thing is shrimp. She eats like candy. I'm sure many turtles will Love the crickets but she doesn't.

There were other things in the food

I was feeding this to my turtle and there was a live bug inside that wasn’t a cricket or a meal worm. Which is scary bc this is not supposed to be live so how did

I was feeding this to my turtle and there was a live bug inside that wasn’t a cricket or a meal worm. Which is scary bc this is not supposed to be live so how did the big get inside and is it doing anything to the food. And there’s also dried fish and snail shells inside when the ingredients don’t mention any of that. Ofc I can still feed these to my turtle but it’s off putting when the containers not meant to have that. It would be fine if they were like may contain fish and snail shells that are safe to feed to turtles. There are also weird strings attaching lots of the food together it’s weird. All in all kinda strange not sure if it was just my jar tho.

Treats for my turtle

When I first got my turtle the store advised me to buy a mixed food of pellets, cranberry pieces and worms. I wanted to have my treats separate from the daily pellets

When I first got my turtle the store advised me to buy a mixed food of pellets, cranberry pieces and worms. I wanted to have my treats separate from the daily pellets. I found this treats product on Chewy and ordered it. I am very happy with this product. Although, I found that the crickets were a tad large for my small turtle. The shrimp and worms are a good size and loves them.

Thomas has a new favorite

Our turtle, Thomas, devours these treats! We used to give him frozen meal worms as treats but these are less work and he loves them just as much.

my turtles really do like this

theyre pretty fussy usually. so I've tried lots of different turtle foods to spice it up. this is the only one that I've noticed they havent gotten fed up of.
