I have one tube feeder filled with them and I add them to one of the trays in my window suction cup feeder, as well (and some of those fall to the ground where many other birds go scrounging through the mixed feeds' detritus, and, upon finding mealworms, squawking, "NOM! Not just mealworms!

We bought these during the Christmas season where there was a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I was super excited as my chickens LOVE dried mealworms. When they arrived,

We bought these during the Christmas season where there was a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I was super excited as my chickens LOVE dried mealworms. When they arrived, I couldn't wait to get out there to give them to the ladies. I started throwing them out and realized, they weren't gobbling them up as quickly as they normally do. When I looked, I noticed there weren't just mealworms in there. It was a mix of mealworms and black soldier fly larvae. Well, my chickens aren't a huge fan of fly larvae. So, they sat on the ground. Unfortunately, because they sat on the ground, it drew the wild birds to the chickens' area. Wild birds bring Marek's, which is a killer to chickens. It can wipe out a whole flock. Plus, there's no way to get rid of Marek's and are told that you should cull the whole flock and get rid of the coop and anything else the chickens inhabited. Well, we're not going to cull our flock. We'll deal with whatever comes, but this was a HUGE disappointment in what was supposed to be a "treat" for our girls, but instead has posed a huge risk to the health and lives of our 30 girls.
