I tried the pills, Beetle didn’t like them. Me either. I tried the ear cream and compounding pharmacies(2) “forgot” to put the Methimazole in. I went to 3 veterinarians, finally found ONE who cared for my cat AND ME. Had Chewy’s pharmacist get the vet’s ID and prescription over the phone. Thank you so much Chewy for walking me through that nightmare!

The increments on the syringe this medication comes with are measured in milligrams, while my instructions were given in milliliters. I assume the manufacturer thought this would be more user friendly, but it makes no sense to put a unit of mass on a liquid dispenser. I didn’t realize I was dramatically underdosing my cat until I saw “1 mL” on the back of the syringe (where I never look). It does say mg at the top, but I never paid attention to that because I didn’t have any reason to think this syringe was any different than the others I use. I’ve been under medicating her for nearly a month now and almost took her to a specialist because my vet and I were worried she had thyroid cancer since her labs weren’t normalizing. I just want to share this information to prevent others from making the same mistake I made. Despite the error, her thyroid values improved (though they are still high) so the product is clearly effective, but the syringe needs a redesign. Either that, or the instructions should be converted to mg.

I had to previously get compounded liquid, and the pharmacy in NJ would send me it compounded with oil and not water. My kitty would always vomit it. No matter how many times I called and asked them for compounded with water which was supposed to be available from them. This became available, ok'd it with my vet and works really well for my kitty. Chewy has really fast delivery of it which before there were times it took a couple of weeks to get to me. this product has really helped with him vomiting and seems to keep him going. I did not think he would make it much longer on the other compounded methimazole. Have been very happy where before I was constantly searching for somewhere to get compounded with water and not oil. Pills do not work nor does transdermal for this kitty. I had another kitty that would not tolerate me putting meds on its ears and would not swallow pills. Wish they had had this available then. This medicine has made my kitties life much better.

Such a difference!

As with any medication, there’s always hesitation when you see the long list of possible side affects. Methimazole seemed a little intimidating at first due to all of the potential side affects, but I knew my cat really needed this medication to get her thyroid under control, not to mention that from the research I did it seems like for the most part cats tend to handle this med pretty good. I’m so glad I came across this particular brand though, since it’s FDA approved specifically for cats. I can’t say enough good things about this medicine and the positive impact it’s had on helping get my cats thyroid levels to where they need to be. Another bonus, Felanorm has AMAZING customer service. You can call them directly and get connected to a pharmacy tech, and they are so patient and answer all of your questions. Once had a question about the syringe and they were so helpful. Will continue to keep my cat on this medication :)

Felanorm liquid is the best way to give thyroid medication to cat

Before I getting Felanorm, she was prescribed a thyroid pill which was hard to administer. She constantly would spit it out and often I didn't realize she had spit it out only to find it hours later or days later. Ever since, I had the doctor change to a liquid medication (the Fleanorm she prescribed) it's been a joy to give it to Missy, just on "click" in mouth it's done. And just as important she likes it, she doesn't try to spit out. Also, since she is not spitting the medicine out, she has shown as signs of improvement.

My rescue cat has been taking the transdermal Methimazole for over 2 years when it began to become ineffective. I decided to ask my vet to approve THIS product - Felanorm, and within 2 weeks I could notice a difference. Now after a full month of dosing my kitty is back to a healthy weight, isn't anxious, his diarrhea is gone, and he's a sweet boy again! So grateful for this easy to administer and effective product! :)

My cat has been on transdermal methimazole for 4 years, as he does not cooperate with taking pills. Unfortunately, the transdermal was no longer working effectively and his thyroid levels were out of control. After 3 weeks on Felanorm oral solution, his levels are completely normal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It was a miracle!

Our cat had a seizure, we thought she was dying. Long story short, the amazing crew at Petfolks at Peachtree corners, GA found out that our cat has hyperthyroidism. A several days after we started the treatment, we got unbelievable results. Our old girl is back, she is 16+ yo. She started gaining a weight, climbing the bed, and "talking" a lot.

I was using the topical form of the thyroid medication, but she always hated the process. It also seemed less effective than it should be due to the method. I put this in her food, and she eats it with no problem. This is the steadiest her health has been in years.
