Feeder Insects Live Superworm Reptile Food, Large, 1000 count

So considering the negative reviews I saw, I decided to take the chance to buy livefeed off of chewy a second time. My box of 500 arrived on a very cold rainy day but It wasn't too long until I brought the box inside. My home isn't too warm but I did read the label stating that the worms may be hybernating due to the temperature so it's best to "warm for 4-6 hours". I took this serious and then placed the unopened box infront of a heater and left it for a bit to warm up. This probably took around 4 hours as I was doing chores. Then at around the 6th hour at night I decided to open the box and heard how lively they were. I honestly thought this was my shipment of crickets due to the sound but I was wrong as I saw worms at the seams of the tape while opening the package. Great overall! There was plenty and only a tiny tiny bit dead that seemed to be cannibalized. My boyfriend even thought the mealworms were the rain due to the sound they were making while moving! In general the packaging wasn't the best but honestly is fine as they're only packed with egg carton. (I once got worms in crumpled paper) Make sure you have a good large surface to pick them out!

They were trapped inside a box with ZERO ventilation and a horrific smell of insect feces. When I put them into my superworm bin, I realized none of them were moving whatsoever. That’s 1,000 dead insects that I paid $32-33 for. I am quite disappointed. My reptiles will not eat prey that does not move, so there is no way to feed them off before they go bad.

I ordered the 500 count because I have two reptiles and they came with zero packaging inside of a cardboard box that had several hole holes. Only about 30 of them were left in the box, and several were crawling around in my shared package room that had escaped the box. Given that it was a shared space I had to act fast and picked up the ones that had fallen out with my fingers. Not only was this unprofessional and disgusting, now I am left with significantly less worms than I paid for. I see several reviews are commenting on the poor packaging, you would think after several, they would do something to improve it. DO BETTER!!!

Over half of the super worms were black and dead. I had to sort through the alive and the dead ones, but I don’t even know if the alive ones are healthy enough to feed my bearded dragon. I had a problem with the quantity for both of the shipments that I ordered. There were probably only like 80 worms as opposed to the 500 that I was ordering. and this time because over 2/3rds of them were dead I’ve only ended up with about 100 or so potentially viable worms. Very dissatisfied for both orders.
