Which Chicken Florentine has the creamy white sauce

Answer by CatLady19Jan 09, 2026
Purina has recently changes their formulation and they no longer have the white sauce.

Which Fancy Feast Medleys has the white, creamy sauce? My cats do not like the oily, brown sauce. I waste more food then they eat. Which Fancy Feast has a creamy, white sauce?

Answer by KelseyMay 10, 2026
It used to be their Florentine collection, but Fancy Feast has recently changed the recipe to get rid of the white, creamy sauce. It's now a clear gravy and it is not the same.

This is NOT the Florentine We All Want

Or that your cat liked. Purina decided that changing the recipe was a good idea. I don’t know who thought that was a good idea. Not those of us looking for the one food our cats really liked. It looks like their primavera version. The white sauce & garden greens are gone. And as a cat mama who has to smoosh every can, these chunks are definitely bigger & harder & I’m not capable to smushing them to anyone’s liking. My cats haven’t even taken a single lick from any can I’ve opened. So, despite them claiming they just took the artificial colors out, my cats would argue that that’s not true. And I bought an entire case of florentine. There’s no sense in me opening anymore cans since I’ve seen Purina’s response to other’s inquiries & THIS is their “new” florentine.

Like everyone else, my cat is displeased with this recipe change from white creamy sauce to clear sauce. She eats it to a point but then so much goes to waste now than before. I'm guessing this change is here to stay but it sounds like my cat isn't the only one with the same opinion. Bean likes the old recipe.

My two boys love the white florentine variety pack. When I order from chewy or buy it in the store some of the cans are white florentine and others are not. What a rip off. My cats won’t eat the non white creamy food. I’m paying for what the box and cans say. Florentine which means white creamy not dark non creamy. I feel that I am being taken advantage of taking my hard earned money and selling me a product I did not pay for. Shame on nestle purina for fraudulent sale practices

MY PICKY CAT CHOSE THIS OVER SEVENTEEN OTHER KINDS OF FOOD

The Fancy Feast Medleys Florentine Collection Pack is a real treat for my cat, Peaches. He’s picky, so finding a wet food that he actually loves is always a challenge

The Fancy Feast Medleys Florentine Collection Pack is a real treat for my cat, Peaches. He’s picky, so finding a wet food that he actually loves is always a challenge. Right away, he perked up when I opened a can, the aroma is noticeable but not overwhelming, and it smells like actual food instead of mystery meat. The cans are easy to open, the portions are perfect, and the creamy, gravy-like texture seems to be what he enjoys most. It’s smooth enough to scoop or mix with a little water, but still thick enough to hold the little chunks of chicken, turkey, or tuna. The collection has three flavors: tuna, chicken, and turkey Florentine. Peaches has made his preferences clear. Tuna is his absolute favorite, a full 10/10 in his book. He dives right in and licks the bowl clean every time. The chicken comes in at about 8/10; he likes it, but he’s not as enthusiastic, and the turkey is more of a 7/10; he eats it, but it doesn’t get the same excitement as the tuna. Even so, all three varieties are high-quality and crafted with real meat and spinach in a light, flavorful sauce. The consistency of the gravy is a big plus and keeps him engaged throughout mealtime. I also appreciate the nutritional aspect. These recipes are 100% complete and balanced, and while they do include some by-products and added color, there are no artificial preservatives. The inclusion of spinach adds a bit of texture and visual appeal, even if it’s mostly cosmetic. My cat hasn’t had any digestive issues, which is a relief since he can be sensitive to changes in diet. His fur looks glossy, and his appetite is consistent. Another strong point is the convenience. The cans are easy to store, the food is easy to serve, and rotating flavors keeps Peaches from getting bored. Price-wise, it’s reasonable for the quality, and the variety pack is helpful so you can see which flavors your cat prefers. The only downside is that the tuna Florentine can sell out quickly, but that just confirms how much cats like it. Overall, the Fancy Feast Medleys Florentine Collection Pack strikes a balance between gourmet quality and everyday practicality. Peaches loves it, especially the tuna, and the creamy, saucy texture makes every meal enjoyable. I feel good knowing he’s eating something balanced and flavorful, and mealtime has become something he looks forward to. Even if he ranks the chicken and turkey slightly lower, the variety pack keeps things interesting, and he always finishes his meal. Mine sure thinks it’s fancy and honestly, I agree.

Fancy Feast WHY !!!? Why would the white creamy sauce have to change? My cats loved the thicker, white, creamy sauce. When I first started to see this change I thought it was a mistake. I was buying the verity packs, some cans had white sauce and some were in brown sauce. so my next order I bought cases and it's all brown sauce :( So I thought I would goggle it and sure enough the sauce has been changed. The new formula smells different, apparently it taste different too. My cats are refusing to eat it. I will not be buying the "New" Florentine formula again!! I thought maybe I could feed it to the feral cat colony I help to care for, but the wild cats won't eat it either. Now that is saying something. Please, Please, Please change it back to the thinker white creamy sauce our cats have loved for years. I was really disappointed there isn't anything mentioned on the packaging. People are buying this stuff blindly. No indication that anything has changed. That's sad :(

I ordered two boxes this month and was suprised that it appeared to be primavera mislabeled as florentine but seeing the comments, I realize this is not a packaging error. So highly disappointed. Cats are finicky eaters and it’s hard to find a food they will both eat then find it suddenly changed after so many years of a great product.

Delighted to Disgusted

Purina! Whyyyyyyy are you doing this to our babies?? My finicky old boys LOVED the creamy florentine flavors, including the salmon one that wasn’t in this box but was ALWAYS sold out at my local stores. What have you done to the recipe that makes all of these cats (because it’s not just mine after reading all of the recent reviews) absolutely disgusted? Dusty and Pepper acted like I was trying to feed them poison! They’re wondering why their favorite food is now yucky. I can’t even offer them Creamy Delights as an alternative because you’ve discontinued that! I literally cannot find a suitable substitute for them. They’re hungry, confused, and wondering why I’m not feeding them their canned food anymore. I sincerely hope you rectify this immediately. This canned food debacle is on top of your discontinuing of the only kibble that didn’t give Pepper diarrhea. So that has also been “fun”. Thanks for making my kitty’s lives miserable.

The horrible smell

I have been feeding my cats the Florentine for years. And then they had to go and do something. They tried a couple of years ago, but then they didn’t do it. I think they make one batch of this dark brown goop and then put the other stuff in it so that everything except for the one that you have to pay afortune for is not white or creamy anymore. I called them at Purina and they said oh we’re doing this to help your cats. We are taking all the color out of the food all the stuff that was creamy white or the tuna which was creamy and kind of colored like tuna is now dark, horrible brown nearly blackhas a strange smell that absolutely makes my sinuses go crazy and all they do is take a couple of little licks so I can’t buy anymore. It’s just wasted money. This is not chewy’s fault at all. This is Purina‘s fault but to call them and have them tell me that they did it for thebenefit of the cats is really a little bit strange the smell makes my sinuses burn and it is the same brown stuff in everything except the that creamy one that’s got some milk in it or something and all the rest of them that used to be creamy if you canfind a September 2007 expiration box all of it in there is brown except for the tuna Florentine so but I can’t afford to buy whole box just to get the tuna Florentine out which they would eat. They don’t eat the new brown tuna Florentine, but they ate the creamcolor. Sorry to go on, but this is cost me a fortune and I’m definitely sick because my cats no longer have a food to eat they liked.

My cat would sell organs on the black market for this food

How dare you Fancy Feast - my cat is now a Florentine addict. Before trying this, he was a simple boy, content to work at a middle-management position in a brokerage

How dare you Fancy Feast - my cat is now a Florentine addict. Before trying this, he was a simple boy, content to work at a middle-management position in a brokerage firm. After one hit of this magical sauce, he's knocking over 7-11's and going missing for days; I heard he stole a chevy pickup and drove it off a bridge in a full-blown Florentine F-hole. He gobbled up the Turkey flavor and went berserk. I have 3 baby mamas coming to my door wanting child support. Please send help.

I’ve ordered this same wet cat food before multiple times but this order was bad. The food in these cans was discolored (darker than previous cans) and my cat would not eat this food. Not sure if food was old or what. I ordered 3 boxes and checked a can the 2nd box and it was the same. :( Highly disappointed!
