Only thing my cat would eat after Dental Surgery with medications!

Our Mia was not eating, losing weight, kept trying every kind of food. She is a Pate cat mainly chicken for many years. She is 10 yrs and likes dental treats but never liked kibble or dry food. I tried the chunks in gravy, would lick the gravy and leave the food. No shreds or minced. She would like pate salmon or white fish but her stomach doesn't and would throw up orange. Took her to vet, blood work good said lesion on tooth but can wait. Took xrays nothing. She continued to not eat much but human boiled chicken and Nacho cat broth or tuna in water. Took her back to make dental appt. took more blood work and her liver enzymes were up 130- couldn't do surgery- I feel like her enzymes were up because not eating! I called back and said she needs dental sooner than later. In the meantime I bought all the Beechnut beef and chicken baby food at the store (is only meat and broth no additives) to get her eating. She did like baby food too but that doesn't have what a cat needs long term. They did it, and good thing her one tooth was infected to the bone. She came home and staggered everywhere and stared at the wall for two days- no sleep. She has to be on Climamycin for 21 days. I have liquid form, well try putting bitter meds into a cats mouth. I found these on here and decided to try- SHE DEVOWERED ONE IN 60 secs. The next time I gave her one I put the medicine inside and hoped she ate it, SHE DID! I am also going to try the savory middle ones too. They are expensive but it ends of being less than buying every kind of cat food out there to try. I will donate what she doesn't like from now on. I am telling you if your cat is picky or had dental or sick they will eat this. I have only tried the chicken so far, and who knows if she will turn her nose up to this in a month, but so worth it! I read other people complaining about getting it out, just stick a butter knife in the side and it slides out, also there is a longer foil tab on the side for ease of taking off- just do it slow.

My 20-year-old cat Nelson has always been a picky eater, especially as he's gotten older. Well, apparently not anymore since he LOVES the Fancy Feast Gems. He literally licks the bowl clean like a dog would do and he's gained almost a pound since I started feeding him Gems. I'm very appreciated of FF to offer such a wonderful product that helps prolong Nelson's life.

My cat LOVES this food and she has major issues. She usually throws up about every 3 days and it is projectile. I have fed her a whole box and not one throw-up AND she is excited to get fed now. The only reason I did NOT give a 5 star review is because I think the packaging is way over done. It does not "plate" as shown in the commercials, I have to scrape it out with a butter knife, not a big deal however it gets messy. Also the foil lid is very hard to peal off and the gravy stills out. All 2 in pkg with a pull tab is not necessary. TO the manufacturer-please don't waste the money on the unnecessary packaging and make it more economical........... I HAVE ALREADY ORDERED 3 MORE CASES/PACKAGES because the cat LOVES IT!!

Thad has hyperthyroidism. A recent rescue, we don’t know how long he’s had this condition. This FF has been so important bc 1. able to make it into a brothy mousse that he will actually eat (increasing his fluid intake to help w his kidneys), and 2.. it contains no fish (so freaking annoying to find fish ingredients buried in products labeled chicken or turkey). Equally important is the rubbish found in fish flesh. AND, to prepare for his iodine treatment, all fish had to be eliminated from his diet. My only gripe concerns the containers. Plastic w an aluminum top that’s adhered w some kind of superglue. PITA to open. FF needs to ditch the plastic (and associated microplastics) and move to cans. BC of this, once Thad has recovered from this treatment we will look for a food w responsible packaging.

A little pricy, but Gems are 100% worth every penny. One of my boys had been losing weight and throwing up constantly, so the vet told me she thought he might have a thyroid condition. He didn't--he's just incredibly picky and has a rebellious stomach. I literally tried a score of different brands and varieties until I hit on Fancy Feast Gems. Not only does he reliably down this food as soon as it's offered, but he keeps it all down. I practically danced with glee when he made it two weeks without an incident. Other food may have a lower sticker price, but in the long run Gems are a far better deal for my little stinker.

Those seem much more rich and savory than a traditional can of pate or cuts with gravy (FF or any brand). It seems to really fill and satiate them, more so than larger sized portions of other foods. Between my three cats they will eat 5 cans of other fancy feast options or really high end grain free foods, or a 5 oz can each of more traditional shelf brands. One each (3 total) was enough with a bit of leftover and they were all full and content. I have one cat who despite free access to dry food is insatiable when It comes to wet food and gravy, and he absolutely loved it and was full by the time he finished (I was amazed- instead of gulping he took his time and actually ate slow enough to taste his food! And bathed himself constantly when done instead of trying to steal from the others). Another who does not particularly care for most wet foods also enjoyed it, eating about 3/4 of a serving before becoming full. My third cat eats anything, but he really enjoyed it, but he would eat a pile of Spanish rice or a cheese danish if we let him I bought it because of a sale, but was very pleasantly impressed

This is my last order. Molly was 19 yrs old and I had her cremated on 9/15/25. She had trouble walking an kept falling down the stairs. I just couldn't let her suffer anymore. I don't know if I will find another one like her as I am almost 88 and have trouble getting around. I think of her every day and am picking her up tomorrow. Thank you for everything.
