I have gone through hundreds of basking bulbs over the past decade of owning beardies, turtles, frogs, etc. but this one seemed to last the longest for my aquatic

I have gone through hundreds of basking bulbs over the past decade of owning beardies, turtles, frogs, etc. but this one seemed to last the longest for my aquatic turtles. One bulb lasted 3 months before burning out. A bit pricey, but it serves its purpose. It didn't feel like it made the basking area super warm but it did enough to dry out the turtle shells in their basking dock.

I have 3 african side neck turtles housed in 2 separate tanks. In December of 2022 I bought these (along with uvb bulbs) and have been using them exclusively ever since. Though its nothing major I've noticed a small increase in appetite and how excited they are to see me when I get home from work.

So I bought this bulb for my red-eared sliders. They absolutely loved it! They would sit up on their floating rock and completely spread out all their limbs from their shells. However, a little after a month the bulb burnt out. I do understand sometimes it is just that specific lightbulb so I will be purchasing another one to see if this happens again.

I've never had a problem with this product. I also feel better buying it because it's water resistant. My girl splashes alot, especially at feeding time and I've always worried about droplets hitting the heat lamp. The lasting power is generally ok I find it last about 6 months. Care must be taken when manipulating the bulb or its holding apparatus. A good bump can break the delicate threads inside the bulb. Overall, a well designed and very useful product.

I think I've had 3 or 4 or these and all but one lasted about 3 months running about 12 hours a day. One of them lasted less than a month, around 2 weeks I think
