Essence Limited Ingredient Recipe Ocean Recipe Dry Dog Food, 21-lb bag

Kibble size is adequate and surprisingly it smells pretty dang good for a fish recipe! I have 5 bulldogs, and even my extremely picky girl will eat it willingly. (I think she likes the Landfowl LIR best though). I like the higher protein and fat, and limited, simple ingredients. Not to mention meats/meals being the first four ingredients. Appears to be a high quality food! ^_^

Our beagle is literally allergic to EVERYTHING. After countless vet visits, trying medications, RX food, and giving medicated baths - we did an allergy panel. We can’t always avoid his environmental allergies (grass, trees, and basically everything) - we aimed to control his food allergies. After looking at the ingredients on EVERY bag across numerous online and local pet stores - we found only one bag of food that fit his needs from Essence. He loves the food - he’s also not a picky eater. Our vet is impressed with how his health has improved - no more yeast and ear infections and we don’t have to give medicated baths 3xs a week anymore. We use his food as training treats for the other 3 dogs - so everyone very much approves of the taste. This food has been a game changer: no more frustrating vet visits, reduced vet and medical bills, happy and healthy beagle, and training treats that work for all!

This kibble has been a godsend for my Aussie!! He has multiple food insensitivities, and had constant diarrhea before I had him diagnosed and totally changed his menu. Now his stool is perfect and his incontinence is remedied. And he loves this kibble. One of the no-nos I had been feeding was salmon. This kibble has various ocean fishes but no salmon, which is very hard to find. Considering it's been out of stock once or twice, I just hope they don't ever discontinue it. I also wish they would offer a 15 lb. bag, because a 20 lb. bag is too large for 1 dog (won't stay fresh), so I have to buy two 4 lb. bags at a time, which is costly. (My other dog is on a different kibble.)

My Papillon and Dachshund both had coat issues for so long. My dachshund had super bad dandruff and super itchy skin that no matter what I put on it, nothing seemed to help her feel some relief. My papillon’s hair would grow uneven when trimmed, and her undercoat would be spiky like it was barely growing at all. Both of their coats were dull and dry. I looked everywhere, changed everything I could think of before coming to the conclusion it was their food. I sat down and weighed the pros/cons, read every review across multiple brands that I had always been told were “great sources of nutrients for your dog” and found they absolutely were not. We are going on two months on this food, and with all of their other additives I’d been giving them for years, they have the shiniest, most healthy coats I’ve ever seen! There’s no more dandruff on my dachshund, my papillon has super shiny, even growing hair even when trimmed down. Not to mention the change in attitude, their behavior and energy levels! They’re like puppies again! I couldn’t ask for a better food. This truly changed my dogs lives for the better and I’m truly great full.
