I'm not sure what y'all put in these, but my boy is absolutely obsessed with them. He'll pick these other any other treat when offered more than one kind and devours them. They are VERY crunchy. My old lady cat has teeth issues and I had hoped that these would be more effective than the Greenies brand I've been getting for her (even though the vet said they are helping some). Unfortunately, these are too crunchy for her and she was just swallowing them whole. They aren't super small, and I was afraid she'd choke (she's a tiny little thing), so she's back on the Greenies. My boy, however, crunches these with gusto! The vet is super impressed with his teeth, she had to check his age on his chart and asked if I brushed his teeth! (Yeah right, I like my skin right where it is, thanks) I totally recommend these to help keep your cat's teeth clean AND give them a delicious treat (but only if your cat's teeth are healthy enough to crunch!)

When I came across these, it was worth the try because not only was it a treat, it was a dental treatment. Both of my cats had horrible nauseating bad breath. I had actually gotten one of those dental water additives but it gave my cat seizures. Mr. Big and Little Mister get so excited for these treats! They chase them and also sit up for them. If there might be a new formulation in development, I vote to add something to break down hairballs - I'll be your friend forever! :D

I bought these after doing some research and wow, I think these dental treats are extremely underrated. Greenies DO NOT work. At least not for my cats because they rarely chew them. They swallow them whole, once in a while there's a little crunch but they just do nothing for their teeth, it's like feeding junk food without purpose. I was so satisfied when I first tried these. They sniffed, then immediately they began chewing, chomping down and crunching them. I was amazed. Gave them another one and once again the wonderful crunching and chomping. They kept staring at me waiting for more so they really like them too. I dont know why my cats dont really like greenies but they just don't. I think them chewing on these might have something to do with the shape of them. They're kind of roundinsh so I think they're more inclined to chew them up. Greenies tend to be flatter so I think naturally just sort of let them go down. Cats mouths, teeth and chewing habits are different than humans. They're going to respond to shape and texture differently to chewing than us. Anyhow the only thing I think is sorta crazy is that it recommends you feed "17 treats daily" to adult cats over 5 lbs. Like what?? Ya'll are crazy for that. Maybe I just dont know any better but that just sounds insanely excessive to me at least for my cats. Maybe other people have much more active cats who eat a whole lot more. I have BSH cats so maybe that has something to do with it I dont know it could just be a marketing thing but they'll be getting less. I will say the price point is pretty good can't complain about that. Of course it says it's not intended to be fed as a meal, etc that's common sense. Anyhow I'll continue to use this product as long as it continues to work. I do wish the main ingredient was chicken meal but it's the second. The first is corn meal. I'm keeping in mind what these are for though, their teeth not their nutrition. I feed my cats a pretty good diet so with a product aimed to provide dental care I'll compromise since they work and I haven't found anything better. Still 5 stars since their teeth are so important I'd rather monitor their diet well and find a product that will actually clean their teeth outside of visits to the vet.
50/50 Will or Won't Eat

I have 13 rescues including 3 feral barn cats (from the humane society's feral cat adoption program. They are spayed/neutered and vaccinated). I always keep treats around so that every time I see them I can give them a few. I am hoping to prove to my ferals that I am trustworthy and that humans can be nice. I try new treats all the time. Only one of my three ferals is really into the DentaLife Tasty Chicken Flavor Dental Cat Treats. One of them will eat these treats if there is nothing else and one won't touch them. I got the smaller size pouch, not the canister because I always like to try out treats before getting a lot of them. These are big crunchy pieces. You can see the treats on the hay in the picture. Picture is of feral cat Rosie with a line on treats between her and the bag.

I appreciate your caring to send the card and links on your website on how to cope with my loss. You are so special. I understand why my sister has been with you for so many years and told me to try chewy. So happy I did. I still have 5 rescue cats and a feral I’ve been feeding. All 6 of my rescued dogs have crossed the bridge. They were 15, 16, and 18 years old when I had to say goodbye.

If I get up, he watches me closely. If he thinks I'm heading to the kitchen, he leaps off the couch, runs ahead of me, and jumps on the counter and waits. Patiently. Spoiled baby black jaguar has me trained. I'm glad my cat eats this treat with gusto. I hope it does what it claims to do. As for the ingredients, they are ingredients I avoid for my cats. This is an exception, however. My cat hasn't experienced any allergic reactions, and his other food is of the highest quality. Like us, these cats have only one set of permanent teeth that has to last a lifetime. Dental treatment for our fur babies is expensive.

Working wonderfully so far

This has worked wonders with our fur babies with the tartar on their teeth and the probiotic. That's in it. My three fur babies are doing great. The vet said he can see the improvement in your teeth, which I thought I was going to have to pay for all three to be cleaned and the best part about it all is there's no struggle, no fight to get them to take them from me. They love them. They look for them and if they could eat them a lot more often they would. So I would highly recommend this product

She nibbles on them throughout the day and sometimes doesn’t finish them at all. Mittens had her first dental cleaning 3 months ago. Her vet prepared me for cavities and extractions and a longer procedure time and everything because Mittens had a lot of tartar buildup. The vet called me about 45 minutes after the procedure started and told me that Mittens didn’t have any cavities and didn’t need any extractions. Thank God for DentaLife! They are a “must-have” for cats!

After a couple years of us making a game of her chasing a few of these every evening, I can get face to face with her and she doesn't have stink breath any more. This recent vet visit, I had the vet give her mouth a good check. Vet said her teeth and gums look perfect! If you've cared for many cats, you know how good it is to hear that!
