Very small and kind of “chokable”

I was really excited to try these treats for my shih tzu/poodle rescue as they were only 25 calories a piece. He isn’t a huge fan of me brushing his teeth so any extra help from VOHC treats is a bonus. My dog is a “chonky” 16 pounds and has a relatively short, smooshed in nose. He’s very food motivated and excited. He’s always supervised when treats are given but he pretty much inhaled this treat the only time I tried giving him one and I actually worried it was choking hazard. The treats are both hard as needed to be dental chews but soft enough thankfully to bite off pieces. He pretty much shoved the whole piece to the back of his throat and bit 3/4 of it off and swallowed it almost whole! I think this size would be best for very small dogs and delicate chewers. I may try giving my little monster the next size up to see if he can handle that a bit better. Otherwise, these may not be the treats for us.

Not tiny, but effective!

Had to get a smaller dental chew for our wee 8 lb. girl, but our 16 lb. boy eats one of these every morning. Absolutely loves it. It's been maybe 6 months and today I realized his breath is not gross anymore. Not at all. He used to stink, and doggie kisses were most unpleasant. Now he's so much better. I would definitely recommend these, just not for teeny mini pups, since they're a fat little log of a dental chewie.

Three out of 3 dogs of mine enjoyed a Purina DentaLife Daily Oral Care Mini Dental Dog Treat every evening before bed. I have adopted older dogs less than 20 lbs. that need good oral care, which can be expensive and time-consuming. Although I am lazy and cheap, my dogs loved Purina chews so much that they would even remind me to give the chews at a regular time. These chews are so small and simple that dogs can have one a day. My companion and I are both happy!

Tasty and great for my teeth!

Full of dangerous artificial ingredients

Do not give your dogs Purina DentaLife treats. They contain several preservatives and artificial ingredients, two (BHA and BHT) that are known carcinogens in humans

Do not give your dogs Purina DentaLife treats. They contain several preservatives and artificial ingredients, two (BHA and BHT) that are known carcinogens in humans and suspected to be carcinogens in dogs and one (sodium tripolyphosphate) that is known to cause stomach upset and kidney stones. The U.S. government has also listed sodium tripolyphosphate as a possible neurotoxin. This product should be taken off the market, but instead of doing the right thing, Purina denies that the chews are causing problems. My 70 lb. dog is going through a second night of nausea and distress in one week after having these treats for the first time because we didn't realize at first what was causing him to become ill. However, nothing else in his diet changed and he hasn't gotten into anything. A quick look at the ingredient list confirmed my suspicions. I only wish I had done that BEFORE I bought this product and gave it to my dog. Do not give these to your dog. Look for treats without a bunch of dangerous artificial ingredients and preservatives instead.

Two dogs, stomach upset for a week.

I was excited to try these for dental health since they are VOHC recommended, more reasonably priced than other products, and not likely to cause choking hazard

I was excited to try these for dental health since they are VOHC recommended, more reasonably priced than other products, and not likely to cause choking hazard. However, within a couple hours of giving these to my two pugs, both had upset stomachs with loose stool for a week. This was the only change to their diet, and I was very disappointed to toss the bag. After doing some post-research and seeing it mentioned in several previous reviews, it seems the product contains a compound with a dubious safety record.

The DentalLife treats almost killed my dog. I have a 13 lb half Havanese, half Shih Tzu. The treats cause sever stomach issues for my little guy. He suffered severe vomiting, dehyderation and wheight loss. He did not eat for six days. He was given IV fulids for two days straight in hospital. My Vet bill was $1800. dollars. I have learned a valuable lesson. NO more treats for this guy. The only thing he gets from now on are dehyderated sweet potatoes (made in the USA). Please read the ingredients carefully and the reviews (I unfortunately did not) about this company and the recalls on their products.

Disappointed in new packaging

Up until the previous order I received last month, the package of Dental Life Mini’s would fill the jar pictured to the very top. As you can see, it’s now only about 2/3’s full. The reason being, the company is mixing the Tiny Dental treats in with the Mini’s, giving less quantity than before. I do recommend the quality of this product, but no more 5 Star from me for the quantity- I’d rather pay a little more than be cheated. (I have pics of the two sizes, but could only add one pic). Yes, I will continue to purchase, but it’s getting a grrr from me!
