Can I freeze these to slow my pupper down on chewing them so fast?

We do not recommend freezing this product. The quality of the product is best retained between 40F and 80F.

Would refrigerating these dental treats after opening the package keep them fresher for a longer time? Any potential harm in refrigerating them in the original packaging after opening.

ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

These actually work!! I’ve tried so many different products!! Powders to gels to wipes. This is the easiest to give and works great. I have two dogs (45lbs and 70lbs)

These actually work!! I’ve tried so many different products!! Powders to gels to wipes. This is the easiest to give and works great. I have two dogs (45lbs and 70lbs) and I break one chew in half and give them half once a day before bedtime. I wish I had taken pictures but I didn’t think they would work. I only just checked a few minutes ago because I wondered if I should get more since they do enjoy the treat but not expecting that they would work, but my dog’s back teeth are looking SO much better. The only thing is it doesn’t really work for her canine teeth but I think it’s because they don’t use those teeth to chew. Her two canine teeth are still pretty bad. I’ll take a picture so you can see the difference between how the canines look and how the back teeth look. Because the back teeth used to look just like the canines with thick brown hard tartar covering most of each tooth. I’m about to order more. Also, I love Chewy! An amazing company!

She gets so excited each morning she gets one she goes from one place she enjoys laying to another. Like she wants to find the perfect place to enjoy her big treat that’s really cleaning her teeth. Don’t know how good it works since there is only a week worth but at her check up a few weeks ago the vet comment on her teeth looked good with no buildup even at 10 years old and cancer

Look at me expanding my horizons. Seriously though, these things are amazing. They taste so good. They're fairly easy to eat, I'm just too little for really hard things like bones. Our old gal is 14 years. During her recent exam I was able to see how worn her back teeth have become. I noticed her struggling with the rawhide style treats and I worried she could get them lodged in her throat. That happened to our basset hound when I was a child (Sally survived but my dad had to use a spoon to pry the rawhide treat out in time). So now I pick these types of dental treats for my older dogs.

We had a bad experience with a plastic chewing toy actually cracking two of his teeth, requiring extraction. So we switched to this. He enjoys playing with it for five minutes or so every day, and it does a noticeably better job at prolonging dental cleaning procedures compared to the previous toy. If you aren't realistically going to brush your dog's teeth, I'm convinced these are the next best thing.

My dogs will flip their lids over these treats. Give them each one daily in the AM. Ripley the old Aussie/Border Collie girl, she takes her time with them - so they do their job as far as dental help. Loki my 115 lb GSD, not so much... he finishes it within a few SECONDS. He loves them that much! I'll prolly look for something longer lasting (marrow bones, etc.) for Loki because these are kinda expensive as a daily "inhale it within seconds" treat for my super-chewer.

[If something changes, I will update this review.] I usually go with a different brand dental chew for after breakfast treat. A couple of months ago, I loaded up on these DentaLife chews because of the discount and to change it up. After 3+ months, I realize my dog's breath DOES NOT smell at ALL anymore. I had been working with the vet who gave a special rinse; got some of the dental wipes; but her breath just smelled. Vet said it may be old age or she has a tongue that pokes out from missing teeth, so maybe that is the reason. I stopped all the other stuff and was using up my huge supply of DentaLife over 3 moths and I just noticed her breath does not stink anymore. I was close and realized it, so went back in for more sniffs. Absolutely no smell. Everything else in her food life is the same, so I'm giving credit to these dental sticks!!

One important thing I'd like to stress about Chewy is that whenever I've had problems with an order... THEY HAVE ALWAYS MADE IT RIGHT. This company has impeccable customer service. I've received packages damaged on delivery... its not their fault yet they make it right. This has always been my experience with them.

Beware if Your Dog(s) Tend to Inhale Instead of Chew

I'm sure this would be great IF you have a chewer who chews, but I wouldn't know so can't vouch to the oral care quality of these treats. I should have known better

I'm sure this would be great IF you have a chewer who chews, but I wouldn't know so can't vouch to the oral care quality of these treats. I should have known better that to give this to my dog, but, her teeth are TERRIBLE and I'm always hopeful that dental treats will work for her. After this attempt, I think I just need to give up because my dog has no will power. When she can't easily crack into a bone or something that smells nice to eat, she tries to inhale it. No difference here! Given the size and shape, similar to other dental treats, this is just a potential choke hazard that should be avoided altogether for dogs with no willpower to CHEW instead of inhale! My other dog chewed one, but, wasn't interested to have another after the first. We gave the rest of the bag away.
