COOHGRUBS Dried Mealworms Poultry & Bird Treats, 10-lb bag

I recently decided to try dried mealworms for my chickens, and I’m so glad I did! These treats are a big hit with my flock. The moment I toss a handful into the coop, they all rush over excitedly. It’s so fun to watch their little beaks go to work! The mealworms are high in protein, which I know is great for their overall health, and they seem to keep my chickens energized and happy. The dried mealworms are easy to store and last a long time, which makes them a convenient treat for me as well. I often use them as a supplement to their regular feed or as an extra boost during molting season, when they need some extra nutrition. I highly recommend these treats for any chicken owner looking to spoil their hens with something healthy and delicious. My chickens can’t get enough of them!

My flock very much enjoyed COOHGRUBS dried mealworms. The first very positive feature is the smell when I opened the bag: yummy and fresh! It's a good thing I did not break into the bag near the chickens, or I'd likely have had my creatures crawling all over me, as the fragrance of the fresh worms is strong in a good way when opening the bag (and BIG bonus for a resealable mechanism, which not all treat products have!). Picking up the worms, I found the second of the positive features: they dissolve and dissipate quickly, which I find helpful because it indicates that they will be easily digestible and used quickly within each chicken's system. The worms are so much larger in size than expected and gave my chickens a challenge using them in their usual tube-shaped treat dispenser. Instead, I found other ways - such as placing them atop of their food or snack (which encouraged immediate consumption from the worms' fresh fragrance) or spreading them in the grass or within their run - to have the chickens feast on this yummy snack. Although we would have loved for these to have been sourced more locally within the USA, both owner and creatures give these mealworm treats our hearty approval!

My silkie hens go CRAZY over these! They are super fresh and whole (no crumbs) and my five girls DEVOURED a big handful in no time! I was surprised how big the 5 lb bag is - it will last my small flock quite a while. The bag is sturdy and resealable to keep the grubs fresh and crunchy - nice that I don’t have to put them in a separate container. I love that I can treat my girls to a healthy protein snack that they will literally chase me down for! Good nutrition makes for healthy eggs too. Win win.

Well, everybody around here seemed to like these since as soon as I got done tossing some to the chickens, the barn cats ripped the bag open and started eating them. I moved them away from the barn cats only for the HORSES to start trying to eat them. So, while I haven't tried them personally, I'd argue that they're fairly tasty 🤣.
