We have a Pit/Rot who LOVES playing frisbee, but she is (as probably expected) a destroyer of toys. We purchased a few different frisbees from Chewy and thought we would share our results. Chuckit! Flying Squirrel (4 Stars) This is BY FAR our dog's favorite frisbee. When I set out all the frisbees and released her, she grabbed the squirrel first. This frisbee takes a bit to learn to fling. I usually sit and throw it over my head. You must put back spin on it if you want it to fly, but once you get it down, it “flies” slowly or almost suspends in the air, which my dog loves. The drawback of this Frisbee is that it just doesn’t last. The 4 corners have a rubber end on them, and my pup will grab that area and shake her head abruptly, back and forth. The corners rip, then the plastic tubes that give it stability start to pull out. If this were more durable, it would be AMAZING! We play for an hour every day, and it usually lasts about 2 to 3 weeks.

Obsessed

My 6lb chihuahua LOVES this toy. I was a little worried it would be too big, but he manages. He is able to carry it which is impressive and goes crazy for this thing

My 6lb chihuahua LOVES this toy. I was a little worried it would be too big, but he manages. He is able to carry it which is impressive and goes crazy for this thing every time. Seems pretty indestructible, but if we left it with our dog as a chew toy I think he’d destroy the rubber corners pretty quickly, but not what it’s designed for. Highly recommend!

My dog's lifelong companion

She's only 1 years old but I bought her first squirrel when she was 8 ibs. She'd run around with it and stomp the edge so she would tumble with it like an armadillo

She's only 1 years old but I bought her first squirrel when she was 8 ibs. She'd run around with it and stomp the edge so she would tumble with it like an armadillo rolling into a ball. I have her first long-distance catch on video and she plays catch at least 2 times a day. 6 or 8 if I'm home. She can jump 14 feet into the air on a good run-up. I buy 2 of these a year strictly because they wear out and more of them if they're on sale because they do like to get stuck places. She loves them and I love them, easy on my wrists and hands and the do FLY once you figure out how to throw them as they aren't like a normal frisbee.

PROS- bright colors make it easy to see wherever it lands, light weight, washes okay under cold water, simple to throw after you get the hang of it, & most importantly- Sadie (our laborer retriever) LOVES it. CONS- It doesn't fly as far as a regular Frisbee/disk and it's harder to throw. It gets dirty easily. I noticed other reviews that said they didn't last long and looked torn up. Ours is holding up well for what it is intended for. I would never leave it alone with her, or she'd shred it- just like all her other toys! If they made it with heavier material, etc. it wouldn't fly well at all. And it's reasonably priced that you can get a replacement easy enough. STORY: We'd been playing with a regular Frisbee for awhile with our 6 month old Lab, Sadie - and she loves it. But, the stiff Frisbee would be hard for her to pick up off the ground at times and/or catch so I was looking for something easier for her to play with and me to travel with, and the Flying Squirrel fits our needs well. The 1st time I took her out with it, I threw it (awkwardly) and she immediately took after it, grabbed it & danced around the park like she'd won some prize. After her little prance-about, she brought it back and we've been "chucking-it" ever since. She retrieves very well with it and I think she would keep going until she fell over dead....she just can't stop playing with it! YES, Sadie and I recommend. It's great for our high energy pup! She still gets excited every time I reach for it.

We got our first ChuckIt Flying Squirrel over a year ago. He's still in use and is well loved. He pretty much lives outside so has faded considerably but still flys like a champ! We ordered a second one recently since original "Chuck" was looking well used and now we have a great catch and fetch session- Ozark will drop the first one and head back out to catch the second one as fast as you can throw them. The whole ChuckIt line of toys has been what's held up best (and gets played with the most) for us.

My dog is absolutely feral for this toy. She has always been a frisbee dog, but this thing has upped the game. It throws so far, and it's easy on her mouth. We've used it to practice stay and catch and long distance retrieval. This thing will either land flat or roll, adding to the "chase." The only bummer is that its not very reinforced on the soft plastic corners, so it's easy to chew through - I think we are on our 4th one. I do recommend for the fun times, but with caution to make sure you're watching your dog while in use because the inside tubing is easy to pull out.

I’m now on my fifth flying squirrel and they’re so loved by my two dogs I’m sure there will be many more in their future. The thing sails like a dream (often over the fence) and since it’s soft and flexible, even if you sling it into your dog’s face by accident, it won’t do any damage. If left alone with it, my dogs WILL destroy it as nothing is ever completely indestructible but they aren’t expensive and easily replaced (and let’s face it, it’s not a chewing toy to begin with).

My dog is obsessed with this toy. I keep it near the door and he randomly trots over and asks to play with it every day all day long. Easy to toss, sometimes it floats on the breeze or lifts giving lots more hang time to jump. My older dog won't fetch but she chases him as he runs with it and loves the play time too. I bought a replacement for this one because he's rough with it when he returns it-he likes to give it the ol "death shake" before dropping it. Amazingly it has lasted for months. Was recommended by a friend and I'm gifting one to another friend. Chances are your dog will love it too!

My Aussiedoodle loves this toy! It’s one of her favorites and trust me, she has tons to choose from . She loves to play catch outside and also loves chewing on the edges of it. I have to watch to make sure she doesn’t swallow the plastic edges on the corners, in fact, I’ve actually ended up buying 3 of them b/c she tends to chew up the corners. Still, it’s always a hit with her!

Highly recommend this toy for any dog that loves to catch things!! On the law, at the beach, in the water.. it’s perfect everywhere! The smile on his face should tell you everything you need to know!
